2025 Squad, Signings and Rumours Thread

The SMH are also reporting that the Dogs have also signed English prop Tom Amone for 2026 also so whilst there is still a contract offer from the Dogs to Pahulu, not sure whether Pahulu would go down to the Dogs for a bench spot as the prop position at the Dogs is starting to get competitive.

Time and Des/Tino/Foz will take care of the JP situation.
Personally, I feel like this has already been sorted behind the scenes with Des/Tino/Foz already. No recent media releases regarding his movements, and all are repeating the same story that was released a month ago. Just depends on our negotiations with him now. Pure speculation, though.

Gus is certainly a complete farknuckle.

I'd hope that the Club has stood its ground and Pahulu's connections have retreated for a reality check and to re-assess their options. Imo, if he was so keen to leave he would have signed with the Dogs or whoever already and would be publicly agitating for an early release.

It was reported about 3 weeks ago that the Titans were meeting with Pahulu management to discuss the contract situation. No word as yet on how that meeting went.

They signed Tom Amone back in May last year and from their Instagram, he joined them already for pre season.

Also on another note, Gus looks like he’s baiting followers and is currently on the GC according to his Tweet. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s meeting with Pahulu again

Phil Gould is the Trump of the NRL. He dileberately uses divide and conquer tactics to disrupt other teams. I think our club should be applauded in how we conduct ourselves. We haven’t lost too many that we want to keep recently and we sign players without the media knowing until it’s done. All the media talk about Gus just fuels his ego but he’s lost out on far more players than he’s signed at the Dogs.

If we lose Pahulu then so be it. He’s good but he’s not going to be the player that wins us a comp. I don’t even have him in my top 17 at the moment to be honest. If hard work and representing the area you grew up in is not what he’s about then we probably don’t want him anyway.

IMG_4131.jpegPossibly the worst lineup I’ve seen. I’m hoping we go with:
1. Kini
2. Jojo
3. Gordon
4. Brimson
5. Akp
6. Campbell
7. Foran
8. RCG
9. Verrills
10. Mo
11. Fifita
12. Fermor
13. Tino
14. Randall
15. Jolliffe
16. Pahulu
17. Haas

Interesting. My preferred line-up looks quite different

1. Kini
2. Francis
3. Kelly
4. Jojo
5. Sami
6. Brimson
7. Gordan
8. Pahulu
9. Randall
10. RCG
11. JAW
12. Fermor
13. Tino

14. Jolliffe
15. Fotuaika
16. Fifita
17. Foz/JC

Kelly & JAW spots most up for grabs
I kind of like a 60 minute impact fifita.
I'm of the Wayne Bennett mould where I like yardage wingers (who can defend better than marzhew)

I can't see any big changes to start the season unless it becomes undeniable like Kini, They'll give the team another half a year or so unless it's shocking to see where they are really at. Only spots that could be up for grabs realistically is whatever wing Jojo isn't although I'd be pretty surprised if Lofi doesn't keep the spot and a couple of bench spots potentially depending on what way Des goes.

They might go Verrills at 14 but Randy will still play a majority of the minutes at 13 and likewise Verrills at 9 so that doesn't matter to much, Tino would've played at 13 at any point last year before his injury if that was the plan so I don't think it's happening + it's never looked good at club level, It could work occasionally but not week to week. Would be pretty surprised if Haas isn't on the bench despite how people feel about him he did enough for a spot, He's quite a bit ahead of JAW and even Arama might potentially be ahead of JAW depending how how he's come back this year.

With all the versatility in the team to fill in for any injuries on field it gives us the opportunity to carry 4 forwards or they can get CG in the 17 but I think it's better for him to play cup till we need him.

That doesn't make total sense though when there's only so minutes to go around which would make me consider someone like Arama would be over others for me potentially being more of an impact player.

Always interesting when this conversation kicks off. Thanks Blade.

For me, I'm hoping:

1. Kini
2. Francis
3. CG
4. Jojo
5. Lofi/Sami
6. Brimson
7. Foz/JC
8. Tino
9. Randall
10. RCG
11. DF
12. Fermor
13. Pahulu

14. Jolliffe
15. Fotuaika
16. Klese/JAW/Hau
17. Verrills/Foz/JC

The 7 is based on injuries to Foz. As stated before, maybe Weaver has a great presesason and nabs it.
Agree that Klese is probably ahead of JAW but I think JAW defends better from what I've seen. Bigger body too. Hau could also be a bolter based on his preseason.
Understand they think of Jojo as a winger but I think they're wrong (which is incredibly arrogant of me). We need good centres and he's probably the best we have. Francis can come on in bounds if he gets enough games under his belt. Sami's selection relies on a speed test for mine.
The utility bench spot has some great competition this year.
