2025 Squad, Signings and Rumours Thread

He’s 20 years old and a starting international fullback who was just nominated for golden boot after winning our player of the year in a struggling team

And he’s an A-grade character/work ethic guy that’s highly marketable

He’s going to get $1m+ easily IMO
I'm a world where DylBro is worth $1.3 million x 10 years Kini is getting minimum $1-$1.1 million per year for at least 5 years

I just want to add to what CowB said about the next broadcast arrangement ... PVL and all the outrageously hyped talk of rugby league's dominance of the Oz broadcast market smacks of bullish negotiation ground clearing ... with the moving goalposts in that arena, I'd be counselling caution too. By the way, no matter what Bwaith says, and remember he is covering his own butt as a player manager, we need a trade window more than ever, imo.

That's why we pay Lafranchi the big bucks......As long as there's no clauses I don't care what he gets.
Yep if the last two years have taught teams anything you are better off not doing a deal at all if agents are insisting on early player options being inserted into long term deals.

They are zero upside plays when a player can opt out of a long term deal after 12 or 24 months.

Our depth in the forwards is ok but we have a real lack of depth in the backs that we need to work on if we are going to be a contender. We need to be looking at either who is coming through or who we can buy to strengthen the backline especially at centre and wing. A couple go down and we are putting our hopes in some very average players. Hopefully Des is working on improving that area.

Centres
Braidon Burns, Solomona Faataape, Josh Feledy, Morgan Harper, Mawene Hiroti, Delouise Hoeter, Asu Kepaoa, Zac Laybutt, Israel Leota, Brent Naden, Aaron Schoupp, Harley Smith-Shields, Kotoni Staggs, Tommy Talau, Viliami Vailea, Chris Vea'ila

Wingers
Haze Dunster,, Sione Finau, Tony Francis, Albert Hopoate, Alex Johnston, Edward Kosi, Ken Maumalo, Haizyn Mellars, Charlie Staines, Sam Stonestreet, Siteni Taukamo, Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega, Christian Tuipulotu, Semi Valemei, Blake Wilson

So who's better or coming to play second fiddle???? That's why I don't get the depth stuff, There's not a whole lot of choice.... With nuance needed... Who's actually coming to play 2/3rd string in all the spots basically when healthy?

He wasn't anywhere near where he needed to be and it said it was mutual, He has fallen so far below basically everyone in our ranks that it doesn't make sense in either party to continue, He didn't really look good in MM.

I'd be surprised if he gets a contract beyond flegg and that might be tough considering his form in MM.

If there was a draft today and we could only keep 5 or so players, Javon Andrews is probably in the 5, He is as good as it gets as a playmaker at 6'3 or so and compared and makes someone like Galvin athletically look average.
