2025 Squad, Signings and Rumours Thread

Greg Eastwood was the ultimate Desballer and he is the opposite of what works in the 6 again era
With Des, He's always had world class players in the spine and usually really good teams but when he hasn't, It's usually not that good and maybe that's just what we're seeing.

As much as Des is big on x's and o's, From all accounts he leaves it up to his halves and creative players to figure it out with attack but he also wants high percentage footy which also might not work for a team like us in the 6 again era, Besides Panthers in their run every good team is willing to spread where as we've gone the opposite.

Having a top completion rate is great but we're also not really scoring points or doing anything to scare teams.

Too late. We signed Tino on a long-term mega-deal and we're stuck with Fifita for another two years. And Mo. And I imagine RCG didn't come cheap either. This is the issue with pumping so much money into your forwards. You leave nothing for anyone else. It really shows. Our backs are bog-average apart from Jojo but even he's nothing special. Imagine if we lose Kini as a result of this.
New teams coming soon, it could be a window to clear out a few

I'm sure they'll move from the GC to PNG hahahaha,

A lot of players aren't signed beyond 2026... The issue is Tino is sitting there watching this off contract if he doesn't opt in and I wouldn't blame him for wanting out?

PNG though will in reality be a Cairns team that flies in and out of Port Moresby 12 times a year.

Benny Elias sticking-up for his relatives on 360 v the other player agents and media just shows how diseased the underbelly of the game really is. You can add gambling money and broadcasting interests into that too.

Yea mate. I hate how the media always go to Benny Elias, of all people, to get comments on the Wests Tigers.

I feel for Tigers fans, long suffering and then just as there is some light at the end of the tunnel, it's a train.

And I'm over the gambling ads too, including the "previews" shared on nrl.com and our own club website. Surely we can offer a video preview not laced with lame gambling ads and statistics.

I need to see or read this. How absolutely embarrassing.
Was on the news last night. Flanagan said they were being hypocritical as they'd made moves that were financially beneficial to them.

I don't think you can compare the way Luai handled his departure to the way Galvin has acted since he basically got graded.

Also Luai actually has achieved things in the game before deciding he was the next big thing.

I've seen numerous reports that Galvin was not happy in the juniors as he had to play backrow and thought he was the best 6. Also that he didn't like Benji's methods and that he didn't like losing dominant playmaking duties to Luai.

I mean you're 19 dude put your head down, work and STFU diva. Wouldn't be surprised if he has an Ash Taylor career trajectory the way he's conducted himself so far.

I would have to agree our depth is crap once we get past the top 20 or so. The starters are fine but if they go down we are in deep doo doo
