Gold Coast CC and MM 2016

Thought id separate and start a new thread for cc and mm. On that note did anyone watch the local derby for Greens vs Whites today??

Yes I was there CC was a really entertaining game with White leading 18-6 in the 1st half but we're run down by Green 22-18

MM was average early on with so much dropped ball in the 1st half but Green blew White away early in the 2nd half & looked home when they lead by 10 points with 3 minutes to go but White scored twice & needed to kick the goal from the sideline after the hooter which they did ending in another draw, the big fella Payne (not sure on the spelling) was easily the best forward on the park with Kyle Williams playing at 6 being the difference for most of the game through goal kicking & a fantastic 40/20 ...Farmer & the no 10 for White were strong.

I actually thought they needed to get Holloway on a lot earlier for a lot more minutes given that he brings the most on attack out of the 3 halves but Kyle did play well.

Local derby is always good.

Morning who got out to watch the Gold Coast White CC and MM vs East at Langlands Park.
Got there just after kick off and a tad hot with no breeze for the most of the CC game under the conditions played in we saw some very good football from both sides with Gold Coast White been more dominant and winnig there game.
MM White game again not to much breeze about (Was over on the eastern side taking photos man was it hot over there).
Well the game was a little strappy at first then the boys started playing the footy as the exspections that have been exspected of this side to play and wasn't it exciting to see under those hot conditions.Forward pack working very well stand out for the first half was Blake Lenehan his defence second to none and Darius Farmer working well out wide and scoring a very nice try.
I thought Sam Clark played well at centre out wide and finished of a nice backline try.
The halves are starting to work well now but will need to keep a very close eye on there passing some being very close to forward passes.
The Whites going into the break leading 26-0.
well second half started not so well for the Whites receving the footy from the restart and turning over procession in there own 20 the East score they started to smell our try line. There was a change in our engine room up front and i thought our go forward was impacted by those changes and
East started to get a few roll sets happening and a few more try's for came be we managed to hang on to a win with the final score been 34-16.
let's hope this is the start of the MM White side going forward, cheers Chris.

Mdrew thought you may like to know Ethan Paikea made his return from injury yesterday for the Redbacks u19 in their 1st trial for the year & played like he's been out for a year but it was great to see him sending opponents flying through the air when they attempted to tackle him , he's probably 30-40% fit so good times will be ahead for one of if not the best junior forward in Qld in the very near future,,, Burleigh Colts is where I would hope to see him by June or July

Thanks for the heads up mate, great to hear he is back he is certainly capable of getting to QCup Colts as soon as he is fit. Hopefully he pulled up Ok after the game.

Payne Haas has actually made the South Coast U18 squad with five other Keebra boys, unfortunately none of the Titans U18 boys at Keebra made the final squad.

No surprise to hear that but he's a huge talent , Payne by name & Pain by nature

Don't have the full squads but I will try to get hold of them for you mate

Awesome thanks mate, they dont really advertise the squads until state cup comes around. Be interesting to see how many contracted players made it from the Titans.

Massive win for GC White in MM against GC Green also great to see Ethan Paikea coming off the bench. 58-10, Ben Valeni with a hat trick and Bostyn Hakaraia kicking 9 from 10. GC Green won CC 24-10. ALso in CC Geordie Brand with is fourth try of the year for Souths Logan in CC.

Good to see GC Green MM player Huston Holloway get an opportunity for Burleigh Colts, unfortunately Burleigh lost, but Huston got a try on debut
