An article today on the signings in the CM

Gold Coast Titans sign exciting twins from King’s Christian College

The Gold Coast Titans have won a stampede to sign boom Year 9 twins from King’s Christian College, but a Logan City young gun from Cameron Smith’s old school remains hot property.

The Titans have pulled off a major junior recruitment coup by winning a stampede to sign boom schoolboy rugby league twins from the southern Gold Coast.

King’s Christian College Year 9 brothers Kobe Te Kiri (hooker) and Noah Te Kiri (lock) are white hot junior talents who would have had NRL recruitment scouts lining up to snare them.

But the Titans have won the race to their signature at a time when the club continues to build from within by retaining elite Coast juniors, many of whom have filtered through to the NRL squad.

The Te Kiri boys, who were from the Coomera Cutters, are the outstanding players in their age group.

Both boys have x-factor league talent which cannot be coached, but importantly they are both hard workers who impress with their work ethic and attention to detail.

Kobe is a scheming dummy half who can take advantage of tired bodies around the ruck, but he also uses his speed to aggressively advance in defence and make a tackle.

Noah is more of a destructive No.13 who makes himself less of a target by running low to the ground.

He also had the strength and smarts to be able to unload in contact, all the while defending strongly when needed.

That the boys have earned a contract with the Gold Coast is a feather in their cap because the Titans were selective with their recruitment of junior talent.

They are not the first in their family to see the inside of an NRL club - their uncle Keanu Te Kiri was a boom PBC SHS schoolboy signed by the Roosters, although he did not progress to the NRL.

While the Te Kiri twins have found an NRL home on the Coast, Marsden SHS student Tipene Moyes remains high class unsigned junior talent.

No.13 Moyes was the outstanding player in last season’s Year 8 Renouf Shield competition.

From Cameron Smith’s old school of Marsden SHS, Moyes was the difference in helping Marsden win the premiership and in one match he scored all six tries.

Moyes’ leg drive and footwork on either side of the ruck is hard to handle in his age group.

Biggest takeaway from that game was how big the ref was... Absolute sasquatch.

Both our guys looked good, Apparently Mostyn the big 18 is being looked at from quite a few clubs, Has mainly played union.

Big Te Kiri twin guy as HS said.

Very early and only seen a few more then a handful or so games mostly against usually lesser opposition but they've basically been the best players in every one of them and that's with talented kids like Noah Mariner and others signed by our enemies up north in the team who looks elite imo + 2 other kids I think clubs will look at least at least or playing against the best kids in rep games.

They're obviously very talented/skilled/athletic if a bit undersized but all their best work I've been impressed with is mostly off IQ and workrate with the talent and building on it with their skills. They also just have that natural bond where it seems like they know what to do if it gets a tad sketchy or it's not going their way, They turn around the momentum.

Noah rarely doesn't get a quick ptb despite 2/3 on him or he finds an offload somehow, Has incredible balance and footwork while keeping up the speed, He's undersized right now but I also haven't seen him lose any tackles and if they do they tend to make a point of making it up. They have have real strength for their size,

Kobe is electric out of dummy half if markers are slipping but he's also very crafty if the line is set and will work it over and already knows how to draw defenders imo better then most in 17s I've seen, He's already a crafty 9 and with his skills and athleticism it looks good.

Their IQ is what I really like from both, They know how to work a game from the ones I've seen. Their dad also runs training camps like Jojos family with Noah Mariner and other kids there which is fresh and not 100% but looks like Jonah might be cousins with them.

Watched a bit of Noah Mariner as well in league + in the Pasifika union tourney which I got no real clue but as a 5 he was always around the ruck digging but defending everywhere which I think is good for the position? The clear thing was how athletically gifted he is and once he fills out... He's still very lanky but being a captain in most teams and coaches saying he's an athletic freak at that age is a good sign.

Good start by the Northern Rivers Titans U16 Andrew Johns Cup side, they lead the Monaro Colts 10-0 at halftime of Round One in Canberra.

Two quick tries for the Northern Rivers Titans in the U18 Laurie Daley Cup to Ryder Nelson and Kai Saric, they lead 12-0 over the Monaro Colts.

Does Kai Saric have any ribs left??? Poor fella hahaha

Liking what I'm seeing from Lynton, That kick from the sideline was quality.

The Northern Rivers Titans make it two from two with a 32-12 win with Jett Flatley, Elijah Galloway and Jesse Whittock outstanding.
