Elliott Farrell started on the right wing for the Byron Bay Devils in Round Nine of the NRRRL First Grade competition against the Casino Cougars with Elliott Farrell scoring his career first NRRRL First Grade try in the 25th minute when he took a Devils chip kick to his wing on the full on the try line wide on the right and bring the ball around to ten metres from the right corner post.

After carrying the ball through the centre of the field in the 12th minute from the left of the play the ball from twenty nine to forty three metres from the try line, Elliott Farrell, in the 47th minute received the ball on the right touchline forty metres from the try line with Elliott Farrell immediately passing inside to his left and then continued to back up and got the ball back from his centre and ran the ball down the right touchline from thirty two to twenty metres from the try line.

The 49th minute saw Elliott Farrell take a Cougars kick on the full ten metres from his try line and ten metres in from the right touchline and after beating his opposing winger down the touchline Elliott Farrell carried the ball out to the twenty six metre mark. Then in the 51st minute Elliott Farrell did very well to take a high Casino bomb on the full under immense pressure five metres from his try line and six metres in from the right touchline.
 
Xhai Waerea (left centre) and Lennox Whaiapu (front row) will start for Keebra Park SHS in the Queensland School Boy Rugby League Year 10 Final this morning against Kirwan SHS.
Both Xhai and Lennox had strong games in Keebra Park SHS's 28-14 victory.
 
Lennox Whaiapu started in the front row for Keebra Park SHS in the 2024 Queensland Year Ten School Boy Rugby League Final against Kirwan SHS with Lennox Whaiapu making a strong kick-off return in the 9th minute to get the ball out to the twenty metre mark.

From the right of the play the ball in the 20th minute Lennox Whaiapu ran the ball through the centre of the field from seven metres inside his half to ten metres into Kirwan SHS territory and in the 41st minute a strong run from a kick-off return saw Lennox Whaiapu get the ball to the thirty metre mark after breaking a tackle.
 
Xhai Waerea started at left centre for Keebra Park SHS in the 2024 Queensland Year Ten School Boy Rugby League Final against Kirwan SHS with Xhai Waerea recording a try assist in the 52nd minute when after the Kirwan SHS fullback let a Harvey Smtih bomb bounce, Xhai Waerea took the ball on the first bounce and almost immediately off-loaded to his left for his support player to score ten metres in from the left corner post.

In the 3rd minute from the right of the play the ball Xhai Waerea carried the ball through the centre of the field from twenty to thirty metres from the try line and Xhai Waerea also ran the ball through the centre of the in the 14th minute from the left of the dummy half to get from thirteen to twenty seven metres from the try line. Also in the 17th minute it was through the centre of the field once again where Xhai Waerea ran to get from ten to thirty metres from the try line from the right of the paly the ball with approximately 75% of the metres post contact.

From wide on the left side of the field in the 19th minute and on his own try line Xhai Waerea’s yardage carry saw him promote the ball out to the seventeen metre mark and also in the 22nd minute Xhai Waerea took another run through the centre of the field from the right of the play the ball to get from twenty to thirty eight metres from the try line.

From the right of the play the ball in the 24th minute Xhai Waerea moved the ball from twenty seven to forty one metres from the try line and in the 58th minute from the left of the play the ball Xhai Waerea was able to carry the ball from sixteen to thirty two metres away from his try line.
 
Corey Pearce started from the bench for the Beenleigh Pride in Round Twelve of the BRL First Grade competition against Redcliffe Juniors with Corey Pearce coming close to scoring in the 75th minute with a burst out of dummy half to his left from four metres out however the referee ruled that Corey Pearce lost the ball forward over the try line before grounding the ball seven metres to the left of the uprights.

Corey Pearce also made a half break in the 66th minute when after receiving an off-load in the centre of the field thirty two metres from his try line Corey Pearce dummied to his left before charging downfield and get the ball four metres into Redcliffe’s half.

Corey Pearce ran to his right out of dummy half in the 24th minute from thirty two metres from the try line and after dummying to his right Corey Pearce stepped off his right foot and then dummied to his left to get to the centre of the field eighteen metres from the try line.

Corey Pearce forced a Redcliffe goal line drop-out in the 71st minute when after running to his left out of dummy half from four metres from the try line Corey Pearce grubbered the ball into the in-goal with the Redcliffe fullback forced to knock the ball over the dead ball line.

Corey Pearce did well defensively in the 14th minute when he held up his opposing hooker over the try line after he had tried to force his way over from dummy half under the posts.
 
The rescheduled Round One GCRL U18 Division match saw Gazniah To’omaga start from the bench for the Southport Tigers against the Currumbin Eagles and in the 25th minute from two passes to the left of the play the ball Gazniah To’omaga dummied to his left as he ran the ball out to thirty eight metres from the try line in the 25th minute then later in the same set of six tackles from the left of the play the ball once again Gazniah To’omaga broke a tackle as he ran the ball from twenty five to within twelve metres of the try line.
 
Donte Tahuhu-Wilson will start at halfback for the Moreton Bay Raiders in the GBJRL U17 Division One Nev Blair Shield Grand Final against Redcliffe this weekend.
 
Tyson MacDonald will start at right second row for the Souths Magpies in the GBJRL U16 Division One Grand Final against Wynnum on Sunday.
 
The rescheduled Round One GCRL U18 Division match saw Luke Jones start at left second row for the Currumbin Eagles against the Southport Tigers with Luke Jones making the second hit-up of the match from the left of the play the ball to run the ball from sixteen to twenty seven metres from the try line with Luke Jones also making the fourth hit-up also from the left of the play the ball from thirty seven metres from his try line to the halfway mark.

The 4th minute then saw Luke Jones run the ball down the left channel from twenty to thirty metres from his try line before being awarded a penalty for a strip of the ball with more than one defender in the tackle. Also in the 37th minute from the right of the play the ball and twenty three metres from his try line Luke Jones was able to make twelve metres and then a minute later in the 38th minute Luke Jones ran the ball through the centre of the field from thirty five metres from his try line to within three metres of the halfway mark.

Defensively in the 9th minute a heavy Luke Jones hit on the Southport right second rower No. 12 saw Luke Jones drive him four metres backwards to the forty metre mark and then a minute later in the 10th minute Luke Jones smashed the Tigers right centre No. 3 with the ball flying loose as a result. Luke Jones was at it again in the 13th minute with a crunching tackle on the South front rower No. 10 in the centre of the field and ten metres from the try line. Luke Jones made another strong tackle in the 33rd minute with a big front on hit on the Tigers fullback just four metres from the try line.
 
Jahzayis Perenara-Livapulu will start at left second row for the Souths Magpies in the GBJRL U16 Division One Grand Final against Wynnum on Sunday.
 
Jack Hudson will start at hooker on Sunday for the Currumbin Eagles in the GCRL FIrst Grade Preliminary Final against the Burleigh Bears.
 
Zac Kumbamong made his initial appearance for the Helensvale Hornets in the 2024 Gold Coast Rugby League U18 Division One competition in Round Nine when he started in the front row against the Southport Tigers.

Zac Kumbamong celebrated his initial appearance of the 2024 season by scoring in just the 3rd minute by way of a charge through the centre of the field from twelve metres out that saw Zac Kumbamong break though four tackles before slamming the ball down with his right hand with authority next to the right goal post.

Inside the opening minute of the match after running onto the ball to the right of the dummy half Zac Kumbamong got the ball from thirty to within sixteen metres of the try line and then in the 5th minute from the left of the play the ball Zac Kumbamong carried the ball through the centre of the field from thirty five to forty five metres from the try line. Zac Kumbamong then carried the ball through the centre once again in the 16th minute from the left of the play the ball from thirty to forty one metres from his try line.

It was through the centre of the field that Zac Kumbamong ran in the 20th minute from twenty two to ten metres from the try line after taking possession of the ball to the left of the dummy half. Also in the 23rd minute from the left of the play the ball and twelve metres from his try line Zac Kumbamong got the ball to eighteen metres out before off-loading to his left and then a tackle later from the right of the play the ball Zac Kumbamong made fourteen metres from twenty three metres from his try line.

From the left of the play the ball in the 31st minute a Zac Kumbamong yardage carry saw him move the ball from eighteen to thirty one metres from his try line and then in the 51st minute from the left of the play the ball and twenty one metres from try line Zac Kumbamong continued to run to his left to get to within ten metres of the try line.

Zac Kumbamong executed a try saving tackle in the 53rd minute with a ball and all tackle on the Southport right second rower No. 15 two metres from the try line in open space.

Signing the Aus Schoolboy halfback is not a new thing for the club, so I wonder what does Zane have that will make him succeed vs what we have seen with Toby S, Tom W and Tanah

For me Zane is a long way ahead of all of those that you have mentioned at the same age. He is calm, composed and a leader. Zane also has a history of success.

Will he make it, maybe/maybe not, but I would not bet against it.

The Titans have extended the contract of 16 year old stand-out second rower Kalani Patu for a further four seasons.

Earlier this season Kalani Patu made his Langer Cup debut for Keebra Park SHS.
