JTS to NRL; the Titans juniors transition lounge

Very interesting to see Ryder Williams line up at left cente yesterday for the Southport Tigers in the GCRL FIrst Grade competition against the Helensvale Hornets with Ryder Williams scoring late in the match after tying the Hornets fullback into knots with a long range Tigers effort.

Wonder why they shifted him from the halves? He was playing well there I thought.

Anytime a centre is a bench player you know that the team is run ragged with injuries

A lot of questions to ask about the tweed front office imo. If the titans want them to be their main feeder club they need to probably send someone down and manage their strength and conditioning and medical programs to properly align with the clubs expectations

But I know a fair few players there have been playing hurt / coming back underdone because the nrl teams injury crisis has forced their hands

It’s a weird flow on effect and I think the club is probably frustrated at their list management

The Courier Mail recently named their Top 50 School Boy Rugby League players prior to the upcoming ASSRL School Boy Rugby League Championships with three Titans named in the Top 16 being Cooper Bai at 16, Sam Stephenson at 13 and Zane Harrison at No. 3.

Zane Harrison with three try assists for Queensland on Day One of the ASSRL School Boy Championships in a victory against Combined Affiliated States.

It is reported that Junior Saifiti has signed a 3 year contract with the Dragons. It is unfortunate as he showed a lot of promise IMO. With no announced replacement of Jamie McCormack leaving a couple of months ago, hopefully the Titans are working to resolve and significantly enhance the program which from purely an external observation, seems to be in disarray.

I enjoyed watching him and liked some parts of his game. Good carry on him. Bit on the smaller side for an OB these days. I wonder if his contract is just SG + Flegg or whether it is NRL back ended.

JTS program is on a treadmill. Signing some decent kids still, but we’re constantly missing the big fish in the 15’s group.

This is the info from Zero Tackle

A powerful winger from Ipswich State High School, Saifiti Junior Saifiti will move to Wollongong on a three-year contract until the end of 2027 and will join the Dragons NRL squad, per News Corp.

His move to the club will see him play in the Jersey Flegg Cup team and he becomes the latest player from Ipswich State High

Is Paul Stephenson running it now? He's got a long title but it's got pathways in it and I saw Lane Bird???? has been back for a bit now and I'd assume Ezra is still involved.

I forget which journalist said it a while ago (I think Riccio) and he said that Nathan Brown was potentially scouting up here for Dragons.

Paul was always there in that role. Jamie’s role just wasn’t needed any more

Lane Bird does scouting/jr recruitment. Used to be with the bulldogs
