JTS to NRL; the Titans juniors transition lounge

I wonder what they can with him into 2025 with Kumbamong because IMO he is a 13 at NRL level with his size, I think I'd just move/keep Cooper at prop and doing the exact same things with his passing and offloading, He can be a playmaker or the same type of player from any spot in the middle IMO and Kumbamong seems much more give me the ball and I'll score despite being half the size of everyone but he also kills it.

I just hope we can keep some of these guys in the system, Javon Andrews is my #1 (my favourite player in the grades to watch) but even someone like Armani coming off a horrific injury has shown a lot of courage to get back at his level, It's taking more time then you'd hope but surely the talents still there and he was as good as the others.

I'll say it it again, Billy Wellard is the smokie in this group for me even though he probably doesn't make it, He's David Staggs/Dallas Johnson, He doesn't take a backwards step and goes all guns blazing despite being a bit smaller. He isn't afraid to put his head anywhere or take a hit. He's disrespectful to his own body and we need a bit of that, Like Mccines.

The Future Titans U16 match against the Storm was played in three 25 minute periods and whilst the score finished 36-22 make no mistake the score line does not reflect just how dominant the Titans were.

The Titans started with a bang with Viliami Fifita scoring next to the right post early with Jahzayis Perenara-Livapulu and Tyson MacDonald also scoring in the opening period. Jahzayis Perenara-Livapulu when he took a Murphy Phillips bomb on the full to score to the left of the posts and Tyson MacDonald in the left corner after a brilliant move to beat his opposing winger down the touchline.

The Titans continued their dominance in the second period with Jahzayis Perenara-Livapulu and Tyson MacDonald dominating down the left and Jordan Hotere with a great show and go to break the line before throwing a superb left arm off-load to his right to put Jai Billish over to score next to the left goal post.

The Storm scored a few tries in the final minutes with the Titans running players on and off and playing some in new positions.

It is impossible to name a Titan that did not play well but hooker and captain Jai Billish was outstanding as was lock Lennox Whaiapu before he was high in a high tackle and had to be taken off. Front row pair Viliami Fifita and Majah Peachey dominated. I also thought that right second rower Kalani Patu was exceptional as well, with left second rower Jyah White showing some touches of class.

For me two Titans players stood out being left centre Jahzayis Perenara-Livapulu who dominated from start to finish and half Jordan Hotere in his first match in a Titans jersey was exceptional. He a big strong powerful solidly built half who is blindingly quick and has a huge left foot as well.

Special mention to the multiple 15 year old boys playing including Finn Laffranchi at fullback who returned the ball with vigour, Leo Briggs at right centre with some class touches and Murphy Phillips starting at five eight with a try assist and four conversions including one from the left touchline.

Also in his first match in a Titans jersey Jonty Coutts did well coming on in the dummy half role, Brooklyn Campbell in the centre of the field and Kingzen Lefono who stood out and right second row as well as Roy Collins-Sio playing in the front row as a 15 year old.

I have still missed right winger Mairangiatea Walker who made a superb line break down the right touchline in the opening period and the strong carries out of his own end off the right wing by Julius Matiseni.

HS and I have gone on about the quality of the Titans 2024 U18 group with Sam Stephenson, Zane Harrison and Cooper Bai etc who are the best in Australia but this 2024 U16 cohort are a strong group as well.

Firstly thanks for the update Mdrew and to make the effort to go up to Brisbane in the horrendous peak hour traffic is very commendable. Well done. There are certainly some names which you have provided information on numerous times and there appears to be some good ones amongst them. Jordan Hotere is one in particular that would appear to be one that we need to keep a good watch on.

cheers mdrew, a lot to digest and certainly some names to take note of. How often do these types of squads get to be together?

A few times a year usually mate, the next one will by late January 2025 when Titans 17 and 19 sides take on Newcastle in Coffs Harbour.

The Tweed Heads Seagulls 2025 MM Cup side looks terrifying on paper. In addition to all of the main players return from their 2024 success such as Zane Harrison and Sam Stephenson, the likes of Titans Cooper Bai, Javon Andrews and Bodi Sharpley have been named.

A few 2024 CC Cup stand out such as Torino Jackson, Devin Bates-Wellington, Nelson Makaafi and Santino Pepeko-Tevaga move up a level too.
