Gold Coast's Kings Christian College were outstanding yesterday in their Year Eight Struddy's Cup Grand Final victory against Redcliffe SHS and none were better than hooker Kobe Te Kiri who scored two spectacular solo tries in the 46-0 victory.

In addition Kobe Te Kiri was named Player of the Competition.

Kobe's twin brother Noah Te Kiri who started at lock was equally impressive for Kings Christian College across the season.
 
In late April Blaine Adams (E Tu Hei Tia Uri Ariki) was named in the 2024 Aotearoa NZ Maori Rugby League 14s Tama Tournament Team.

2024 saw Blaine Adams move to the Kings Christian College with Blaine Adams named in the Queensland All School’s Year Eight Oztag competition’s Year Eight Merit Team.

Blaine Adams also played for Kings Christian College in the School Boy Rugby League Year Eight Struddy’s Cup with Blaine Adams starting at fullback in the 46 – 0 Grand Final victory against Redcliffe SHS.

In late August 2024 Blaine Adams was named in the 2024 South Queensland Māori U14 Tuakana Representative Squad.
 
Leison Malu played for Kings Christian College in the 2024 School Boy Rugby League Year Eight Struddy’s Cup with Leison Malu starting at halfback in the 46 – 0 Grand Final victory against Redcliffe SHS with Leison Malu kicking seven conversions and recording two try assists to be named Player of the Grand Final.
 

Ayvree Wetere started at right second row for Gold Coast based Kings Christian College yesterday in the School Boy Rugby League Struddy's Cup Grand Final with Ayvree Wetere scoring a hat trick in a 46-0 victory over Redcliffe SHS.​

 
Max Liles continued at halfback for the Cudgen Hornets in Round Nine of the NRRRL First Grade competition against Lismore Marist with Max Liles kicking a conversion from eleven metres to the right of the goal posts in the 78th minute.

Max Liles did well in the 49th minute when after backing up a line break down the right touchline the pass inside to Max Liles was very low with Max Liles smartly grubbering the ball forward from forty to twenty seven metres from the try line with Max Liles doing well after retrieving the ball to stay into the field of play near the right touchline.
 
After a stunning two try performance TSS FIrst XV winger Callum Dalton was named as a reserve in the Courier Mail Round Eight GPS First XV Team of the Week.
 
Cooper Nelson started on the right wing for the Mullumbimby Giants in Round Nine of the NRRRL First Grade competition against the Lower Clarence Magpies with Cooper Nelson scoring in the 41st minute when after being on the end of a Mullumbimby back line movement to their right Cooper Nelson after receiving the ball twenty eight metres from the try line and twelve metres in from the right touchline beat his opposing winger on the outside and even though he was caught by the Magpies fullback just short of the try line Cooper Nelson was able to keep his right arm off the ground (the arm carrying the ball) and reached out to plant the ball down in the right corner.

Cooper Nelson also kicked a conversion in the 49th minute from twelve metres in from the left touchline.
 
Ethan Alcorn made his NRRRL U18 debut in Round Eleven of the 2024 season when he started at halfback for the Cudgen Hornets against the Bilambil Jets and inside the opening minute of the match Ethan Alcorn chased through the short Cudgen goal line drop-out to their right and took the ball on the full and got the ball out to the eighteen metre mark.

Ethan Alcorn was exceptional defensively in his debut including in the 4th minute with a great right shoulder driving hit on the Bilambil right second rower of a Jets scrum win with Ethan Alcorn’s heavy initial contact forcing a knock on twenty metres from the try line. Then in the 20th minute Ethan Alcorn dated out of the defensive line and hit his opposing halfback just as he was receiving the ball twelve metres out and in the centre of the field.

Ethan Alcorn showcased his kicking skills in the 44th minute with a right foot kick into his left corner from thirty one metres from his try line and to the right of the play the ball with the Bilambil fullback putting his foot on the touchline when retrieving the ball two metres from the left corner post to give the ball back to the Hornets in good attacking position ten metres from the try line.
 
Luke Barnett made his NRRRL First Grade starting debut in Round Nine against the Byron Bay Devils on the left wing for the Casino Cougars with Luke Barnett celebrating his starting debut by scoring in the 22nd minute with a short sharp burst down the left touchline from eight metres out with Luke Barnett stepping inside to beat his opposing winger when two metres from the try line to put the ball down two metres in from the left corner post.

Luke Barnett had come close to scoring earlier in the match in the 18th minute however Luke Barnett was tackled over the touchline just short of the left corner post after receiving an off-load from his inside three metres from the try line and on the left touchline.

From the left of the play the ball but on the right side of the field in the 16th minute Luke Barnett ran the ball from twenty six to thirty eight metres from his try line and in the 51st minute from the right of the play the ball Luke Barnett was able to run the ball from twenty to thirty three metres from his try line. Also in the 41st minute Luke Barnett ran the ball down the left touchline from twenty five to thirty six metres from his try line after stepping off his left foot to take himself away from the touchline.

Qubin Anderson started at hooker for Keebra Park SHS in the 2024 Queensland Year Ten School Boy Rugby League Final against Kirwan SHS with Qubin Anderson recording a try assist in the 44th minute when with Qubin Anderson at dummy half two metres from the try line Qubin Anderson ran to his right and brought Jack Hamilton back underneath to crash over to score three metres to the left of the goal posts.

Qubin Anderson also made a line break in the 25th minute with a run out of dummy half to his left through the centre of the field from the halfway mark with Qubin Anderson able to beat two defenders as he charged to twenty five metres from the try line.

Qubin Anderson ran to his right out of dummy half in the 9th minute and broke two tackles as he darted through the centre of the field from thirty metres from his try line to two metres into Kirwan SHS territory.
 
Jack Hamilton started at lock for Keebra Park SHS in the 2024 Queensland Year Ten School Boy Rugby League Final against Kirwan SHS with Jack Hamilton scoring in the 44th minute from two metres out from the try line and three metres to the left of the goal posts after cutting underneath Qubin Anderson who had run out of dummy half.

In the 10th minute from the left of the play the ball a strong Jack Hamilton carried saw him promote the ball from the halfway to thirty five metres of the try line through the centre of the field. Then in the 38th minute from the left of the play the ball Jack Hamilton carried the ball through the centre of the field from the halfway to thirty seven metres from the try line with the speed of Jack Hamilton’s run catching the Kirwan SHS defensive line off-side and then from the penalty restart Jack Hamilton ran the ball to within twenty metres of the try line. Also in the 41st minute from the left of the dummy half Jack Hamilton was able to get the ball to thirty metres from the try line after making ten metres.
 
Tyrell Schwenke started in the front row for Keebra Park SHS in the 2024 Queensland Year Ten School Boy Rugby League Final against Kirwan SHS and n the 9th minute from the right of the play the ball Tyrell Schwenke carried the ball through the centre of the field from twenty to thirty three metres from the try line.
 
The rescheduled Round One GCRL U18 Division match saw Harrison Doherty start at halfback for the Currumbin Eagles against the Southport Tigers with Harrison Doherty recording the first of his two try assists inside the opening minute of the match when on the final tackle of the first set of tackles of the match from the right of the play the ball in the centre of the field and forty three metres from the try line Harrison Doherty put up a towering bomb that the Tigers defenders let bounce with the ball bouncing perfectly for his right centre to run onto the ball and score to the right of the goal posts.

Harrison Doherty recorded his second try assist in the when from the left of the play the ball and after running the ball to ten metres from the try line Harrison Doherty put in a right foot chip kick to the left corner with the ball collected and grounded by his left winger.
 
Bailey McConnell will start at five eight on Sunday for the Burleigh Bears in the GCRL First Grade Preliminary Final against the Currumbin Eagles.
 
Lightning qiuck Darius Mallie will start at fullback for Burleigh in this weekend's GCRL U13 Division One Grand Final this young man is electric!

In 2023 Darius Mallie was named in the Qld U12 School Boy Rugby League side playing for Northern.

This Season Darius Mallie also played rugby in the GCJR U13 competition for the Nerang Bulls.
 
In 2024 Mason Szerszyn is playing for the Burleigh Bears in the GCJRL U13 Division One competition including being named in the centres in the Grand Final against the Currumbin Eagles this weekend.

The PBC SHS student was named in the 2023 South Coast School Boy Rugby league U12 Representative and started at left centre in South Coast’s first match of the 2023 Queensland U12 School Boy Rugby League Championships against Northern.
 
In 2024 Sam Morley is palying for the Burleigh Bears in the GCJRL U13 Division One competition including being named at hooker in the Grand Final against the Currumbin Eagles.

The young hooker was selected at hooker in the 2023 South Coast U12 School Boys Rugby League Representative side for the Queensland Championships.
 
In 2024 Jasiah Ioane is playing for the Burleigh Bears in the GCJRL U13 Division One competition including named to start in the front row in the Grand Final against the Currumbin Eagles this weekend.

Round One of the 2024 Year Eight Renouf Shield School Boy Rugby League competition saw Jasiah Ioane start in the front row for Keebra Park SHS against Wavell SHS with Jasiah Ioane scoring a key second half try when from two passes to the left of the play the ball and ten metres out Jasiah Ioane used a left arm fend to beat a defender to score under the posts.

Jasiah Ioane also started in the front row in Round Two against Mabel Park SHS and in Round Three against Wavell SHS, Round Four against Marsden SHS and Round Five against Ipswich SHS.


Jasiah Ioane continued in the front row in Round Six against Stretton State College.

2024 also saw Jasiah Ioane represent the Gold Coast Cyclones U13 side at the Queensland Country U13 Championships with Jasiah Ioane subsequently named in the 2024 Queensland Country U13 Representative Rugby side.
 
In 2024 Kane Buchanan is playing for the Burleigh Bears in the GCJRL U13 Division One competition including named to start in the second row in the Grand Final against the Currumbin Eagles this weekend.

Earlier this season Kane Buchanan played for Keebra Park SHS in the Bronco's Old Boys competition including scoring a 45 metre solo try in the Grand Final.
