Junior Development

Sam Wall will line up for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the CC Cup in 2025.

In NZ Sam Wall was named in the 2022 U13 NZ Maori Merit Team and in 2023 Sam Wall was named in the U14 Maori Merit Team.
 
Troy Ellis started in the middle for the Helensvale Hornets in in the 2024 GCRL U16 Division One Grand Final including scoring in the Hornets victory.

In 2025 Troy Ellis will be part of the Tweed Heads Seagulls CC Cup squad.
 
Seth Coe was a stand out performer for the TSS U16A side this year as well as being on the bench for the FIrst XV and in 2025 the inside centre will be part of the Tweed Heads Seagulls CC Cup squad.
 
2024 Runaway Bay Seagulls GCRL U16 Division One second rower and rugby centre Taedyn Keepa-Tamati will start the 2025 season as part of the Tweed Heads Seagulls CC Cup squad.
 
Outside back Brody Hawkins-Malcolm who made his GCRL FIrata Grade debut this year for the Southport Tigers has been named in the 2025 Tweed Heads Seagulls MM Cup squad.
 
Electric hooker Hadley Smith has been named in the Tweed Heads Seagulls MM Cup squad in 2025.

In 2024 Hadley Smith started at hooker for Marymount College in the Titans CUp Grand Final against PBC SHS with Hadley Smith named Player of the Match after scoring four tries. Hadley Smith was also named Player of teh Match in the corresponding Grand Final in 2023.
 
Somerset College's Isaac Fidock has been named in the 2025 Burleigh Bears CC Cup squad.

In 2024 Isaac Fidock was one of the best in the GCRL U16 Division One competition finishing the season as the competitions second leading try scorer with 11 including his Grand Final try against Helensvale. Isaac Fidock also played a number of matches in the U18 Division One competition inlcuding a great perfomance at five eight in Round 12 against Southport when from five eight to the left of the play the ball Isaac Fidock sliced through the defensive line from twelve metres out to score side on the left.

Isaac Fidock is also a standout rugby player inlcuding lining up in the Queensland Reds U16 Acadamy trials.
 
Will Sheridan moved to right centre for the Byron Bay Devils in Round Eleven of the U18 NRRRL competition against the Kyogle Turkeys with Will Sheridan having a day out on the way to scoring four tries.

Will Sheridan scored the first of his four tries inside the opening minute of the match when he chased through a Devils kick that took a horror bounce for the Kyogle fullback but a perfect bounce for Will Sheridan to take the ball seven metres out and bring the ball around to score under the posts.

Will Sheridan scored his second try in the 15th minute when after received the ball wide on the right side of the field Will Sheridan dummied to his right and ran himself from twenty eight metres out to score five metres in from the right corner post.

Will Sheridan made it three tries in the 21st minute when he backed up a line break from inside Devils territory by Noah Vakararawa to get the ball from his fullback from his left and run twenty two metres to score under the posts.

Will Sheridan scored his fourth try in the 38th minute by running an underneath route to the right of the play the ball cutting underneath Finn Spencer from ten metres out with Will Sheridan breaking through one attempted tackle to crash over to score three metres to the right of the uprights.

Will Sheridan came close to scoring a fifty try when he chased through a Byron Bay grubber kick into the in-goal but the ball just rolled over the dead ball line before Will Sheridan was able to get to it.

In the 7th minute from the right of the play the ball Will Sheridan ran the ball down the right channel from thirty eight metres from his try line to thirteen metres into Turkeys territory and then in the 11th minute Will Sheridan ran the ball through the centre of the field from the right of a Devils scrum win to get from ten metres in his own territory to four metres into the Turkey’s half.

Also from the right of the play the ball in the 13th minute and twelve metres from his try line Will Sheridan broke three tackles to surge his way to the thirty four metre mark. A minute later in the 14th minute from the right of the dummy half Will Sheridan broke two more tackles to carry the ball from ten to forty metres from his try line.
 
Tyler Harper started at halfback for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Lower Clarence Magpies with Tyler Harper kicking the first of his three conversions in the 24th minute from directly in front to convert Bobby Smith’s first try with Tyler Harper adding a second conversion in the from the right touchline in the 48th minute. Tyler Harper then added a third conversion in the 55th minute from five metres to the left of the posts.

In just the 2nd minute from the left of the play the ball but wide on the right side of the field and eighteen metres from the ty line Typer Harper put a right foot bomb up towards the left corner in the ball taken by the Lower Clarence halfback just in the field of play and forced back into the in-goal to force a Magpies goal line drop-out.
 
Blake Togo-Murphy moved to right centre for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Lower Clarence Magpies with Blake Togo-Murphy making a line break in the 13th minute when after being put away down the right touchline by Bobby Smith still twelve metres inside his own territory Blake Togo-Murphy slipped under one tackle as he cut inside and when ten metres from the try line Blake Togo-Murphy got a left arm off-load away to his right.

In the 7th minute from the left of the play the ball and thirty metres from his try line Blake Togo-Murphy ran the ball to within six metres of the halfway. Also in the 56th minute also from the left of the play the ball and six metres in his own half Blake Togo-Murphy got the ball nine metres into Lower Clarence’s half.

Blake Togo-Murphy did well defensively in the 27th minute when he drove the Lower Clarence left winger over the touchline two metres from the Seagulls right corner post and then from the left of the Tweed Heads play the ball restart Blake Togo-Murphy carried the ball from eight metres from his try line to twenty three metres out.

Bobby Smith continued at lock in Round Eleven against the Lower Clarence Magpies with Bobby Smith scoring the first of his two tries in the 24th minute when from the right of the play the ball and seven metres from the try line Bobby Smith cut back underneath his hooker to break two tackles and get the ball down under the posts.

Bobby Smith scored his second try in the 32nd minute by way of a hard straight charge to the right of the play the ball from twelve metres out that saw him run straight over one defender as he crashed over to score ten metres to the right of the uprights.

Bobby Smith recorded a line break assist in the 13th minute when after taking possession of the ball two passes to the right of a Tweed Heads scrum win Bobby Smith ran the ball from forty six metres from the try line to thirty eight metres out and after drawing two Magpies Bobby Smith passed to his right to put Blake Togo-Murphy away down the right touchline.

In the 50th minute for the left of the play the ball Bobby Smith continued to run to his left from forty metre from the try line and through sheer effort ran the ball to within ten metres of the try line near the left touchline.
 
Grant Byers-Brown moved to right centre for the Lower Clarence Magpies in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Tweed Heads Seagulls with Grant Byers-Brown once again impressive including scoring a try and kicking three conversions.

Grant Byers-Brown scored in the 50th minute as a result of an intercept when defending on the right with Grant Byers-Brown running sixty metres to put the ball down under the posts.

Grant Byers-Brown kicked the first of his three conversions in the 19th minute from ten metres in from the left touchline before kicking a second conversion in the 37th minute from nine metres in from the left touchline with Grant Byers-Brown adding a third conversion in the 50th minute to convert his own try from directly in front.

Grant Byers-Brown also made a line break in the 42nd minute from the left of a Magpies scrum win and after stepping off his left foot Grant Byers-Brown broke through the Seagulls defensive line ten metres inside his half and ran the ball to within twenty seven metres of the try line.
 
Kyson Freer continued at fullback for the Murwillumbah Mustangs in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Casino Cougars with Kyson Freer kicking the first of his three conversions in the 12th minute from six metres to the right of the goal posts. After kicking a second conversion in the 30th minute from ten metres to the left of the goal posts, Kyson Freer kicked his third conversion in the 57th minute from ten metres to the left of the uprights.

Kyson Freer also made a line break in the 34th minute when after receiving the ball to the right of the dummy half in the centre of the field and twenty metres from his try line Kyson Freer stepped off his right foot to run the ball to within six metres of the halfway mark but unfortunately was knocked from his grasp as he was being tackled.

After taking a Cougars kick on the first bounce twelve metres from his try line and in front of his posts Kyson Freer returned the ball to thirty three metres form the try line and then in the 10th minute from the left of the play the ball after carrying the ball seven metres into Casino territory from ten metres inside his half Kyson Freer was able to get an off-load away to his left. Kyson Freer also broke two tackles in the 27th minute as he ran the ball from thirty one to twenty metres from the try line.

From the left of the play the ball in the 29th minute and twenty four metres from his try line Kyson Freer was able to make fifteen metres and then a Kyson Freer run from a twenty metre tap restart saw him make sixteen metres downfield.

With the scores locked at sixteen all in the 55th minute a Kyson Freer short kick-off to his left was able to be retrieved by the Mustangs who then went on to win the match.
 
Cruz Dangerfield started from the bench for the Murwillumbah Mustangs in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Casino Cougars with Cruz Dangerfield coming onto the field to operate at right second row in the 20th minute and from a Mustangs penalty restart in the 29th minute thirty two metres from the try line Cruz Dangerfield got the ball to within nineteen metres with Cruz Dangerfield then receiving a penalty for an illegal strip of the ball. Also in the 41st minute from two passes to the right of the dummy half Cruz Dangerfield carried the ball through the centre of the field from twenty three to thirty six metres from the try line.
 
Aaron Singh-Goesel started at left second row for the Murwillumbah Mustangs in Round Eleven of the NRRRL U18 competition against the Casino Cougars with Aarton Singh-Goesel scoring in the 30th minute after running a great line from eighteen metres out off a pass from his right from Kaleb Smith with Aaron Singh-Goesel running straight into a big gap before running over the top of the Casino fullback to get the ball down ten metres to the left of the posts.

Aaron Singh-Goesel also recorded a try assist in the 31st minute with a quick catch and pass to his left from two passes to the left of the play the ball and six metres from the try line for his centre to score in the left corner.
 
Jakequan Roberts-Walsh started on the right wing for Northern United in Round Eleven of the NRRRL First Grade competition against the Tweed Coast Raiders with Jakequan Roberts-Walsh recording a try assist in the 53rd minute when after receiving an off-load from his right from James Roberts, Jakequan Roberts-Walsh burst down the right touchline from forty five metres out and when fourteen metres from the try line Jakequan Roberts-Walsh got a pass back inside for his fullback to collect the ball to score under the posts.

Jakequan Roberts-Walsh did well in the 14th minute to chase through a Northern United kick and tackle the Raiders fullback over the touchline fourteen metres from the try line. Jakequan Roberts-Walsh went one better in the 20th minute when after chasing through a Northern United chip kick towards the right corner Jakequan Roberts-Walsh forced the Tweed Coast fullback back into the in-goal to force a goal line drop-out.
 
Creedence Donovan started at halfback for the Mullumbimby Giants in Round Eleven of the First Grade NRRRL competition against the Ballina Seagulls with Creedence Donovan coming close to scoring as a result of a smart piece of play in the 52nd minute when after passing the ball to his left to his left centre Creedence Donovan looped to his centre’s right to get the ball back from his centre with Creedence Donovan reaching back behind him to take the pass in his right hand thirty metres from the try line and then immediately chipping over the oncoming fullback but unfortunately the ball just beat Creedence Donovan to roll over the dead ball line.

Creedence Donovan also recorded a try assist in the 49th minute when from eight metres from the try line and to the left of the play the ball Creedence Donovan threw a well weighted pass to his left to put his left centre over to score in the left corner.

Creedence Donovan made a line break in the 16th minute when just two metres from his own try line and wide on the left side of the field Creedence Donovan picked up a Seagulls attempted grubber kick into the in-goal and then stepped off his left foot to break into open space before being tackled forty three metres from the try line.

In the 61st minute when after receiving a pass from his left forty five metres from the try line Creedence Donovan ran down the right touchline before cutting inside thirty two metres from the try line.
