Gad Tata came off the bench for the Currumbin Eagles in the GCRL U18 Division One Week Two Elimination Final against the Burleigh Bears to operate on the right wing with Gad Tata scoring in the 60th minute when after backing up a line break by a team mate Gad Tata received a pass from his left and charge fifty five metres down the right touchline before bringing the ball around to place it down ten metres to the right of the posts.

Gad Tata also recorded a try assist in the 49th minute when after charging down the right touchline from thirty five to within four metres of the try line Gad Tata drew the fullback before passing inside to his five eight who scored wide out on the right side of the field.
 
Scary to think that 2025 trials are less than a week away with the Northern Rivers Titans playing the Northern Tigers on Saturday 11 January at Tenterfield.
 
Harrison Doherty started at halfback for the Currumbin Eagles in the GCRL U18 Division One Week Two Elimination Final against the Burleigh Bears with Harrison Doherty kicking five conversions and a penalty goal in the 58th minute from twelve metres out and two metres to the right of the posts.

Harrison Doherty kicked his initial conversion in the 7th minute from directly in front before adding a second conversion in the 12th minute also from in front to convert Dylan Watkins’s try. Harrison Doherty kicked his third conversion in the 23rd minute to convert Kaea Cribb’s try from four metres in from the left touchline and then kicked his fourth in the 27th minute with a great kick from the left touchline. Harrison Doherty then rounded out his match in the 60th minute to convert Gad Tata’s try from ten metres to the right of the posts.

In the 22nd minute from the left of the play the ball and forty seven metres from the try line Harrison Doherty put a right foot kick into the left corner with the ball then knocked on by the Bears defender to give the Eagles the scrum feed ten metres out from the try line. Then in the 26th minute from the left of the dummy half and forty six metres from the try line Harrison Doherty put up a high bomb that was once again knocked on by Burleigh with the Eagles getting the scrum feed ten metres from the try line.
 
Dylan Watkins started on the right wing for the Currumbin Eagles in the GCRL U18 Division One Week Two Elimination Final against the Burleigh Bears with Dylan Watkins scoring in the 12th minute by way of a long range effort that started with Dylan Watkins receiving the ball to the right of a Currumbin scrum win eight metres from his own try line with Dylan Watkins breaking two tackles to get on the outside of the Bears left sided defensive line and outpace the cover defence down the right touchline with Dylan Watkins then able to bring the ball around to put it down under the posts.

Dylan Watkins also recorded a try assist in the 7th minute when after bursting through the centre of the field from the right of the play the ball Dylan Watkins ran the ball from forty to twelve metres from the try line before drawing the Burleigh fullback and passing to his right to put his five eight over to score under the posts.

Dylan Watkins made a line break in the 18th minute off a pass from his left from Kaea Cribb twenty metres from the try line with Dylan Watkins cutting inside only to be tackled two metres from the try line.

The 39th minute saw Dylan Watkins carry the ball from the right of the play the ball from thirty to forty metres from the try line and a tackle later also from the right of the play the ball Dylan Watkins ran the ball from the halfway mark thirteen metres inside the Bears half. Also in the 44th minute Dylan Watkins ran out of dummy half to his right from forty metres from his try line to fourteen metres into the Bears half.

Dylan Watkins made a great try saving tackle in the 34th minute when he raced to his right bring down his opposing winger just two metres from the right corner post.
 
Kaea Cribb started at fullback for the Currumbin Eagles in the GCRL U18 Division One Week Two Elimination Final against the Burleigh Bears with Kaea Cribb scoring in the 23rd minute after breaking two tackles from ten metres out with Kaea Cribb able to reach out with the ball in his right arm and ground the ball on the try line four metres in from the left corner post.

Kaea Cribb also recorded a line break assist in the 18th minute when after chiming into the backline wide on the right side of the field Kaea Cribb ran the ball from twenty eight to twenty metres from the try line before throwing a cut-out pass to his right to allow Dylan Watkins to race down the right touchline.

From the left of a Currumbin scrum win in the 3rd minute from the left of a Currumbin scrum win Kaea Cribb carried the ball down a left blindside forty eight metres from the try line and after stepping to his left to beat a defender Kaea Cribb made a half break to get the ball with within twenty two metres of the try line. Kaea Cribb then chimed into the backline wide on the right side of the field as he ran from twenty two to ten metres from the try line before throwing a right amd flick pass to his right.
 
Austin Marsters started at lock in the Week Two GCRL U18 Division One Final for the Southport Tigers against the Helensvale Hornets with Austin Marsters recording a line break assist in just the 2nd minute of the match when after running the ball from the left of the play the ball from twelve to twenty metres from the try line Austin Marster threw a cut-out pass to his left to put halfback Zac Murphy into space down the left channel.
 
Joshua Siulepa continued in the front row for the Southport Tigers in Round Four of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Helensvale Hornets with Joshua Siulepa returning the opening kick-off to the twenty metre mark. Then in the 7th minute from the left of the play the ball Joshua Siulepa got from thirty seven to twenty seven metres from the try line.
 
Tama Darlington continued at hooker for the Southport Tigers in Round Four of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Helensvale Hornets and in the 23rd minute Tama Darlington ran out of dummy half to his right and after dummying to his right Tama Darlington ran from thirty seven metres from his try line to within two metres of the try line. Then after receiving a pass from his right from close range Tama Darlington through the centre of the field from thirty two to seventeen metres from the ty line breaking a tackle along the way.
 
Zac Murphy continued at halfback for the Southport Tigers in Round Four of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Helensvale Hornets with Zac Murphy scoring in the 60th minute from the left of a Southport centre field scrum win with Zac Murphy receiving the ball twelve metres out and after dummying to two inside runners as he ran to his left Zac Murphy sliced between two backpeddling Hornets defenders to score five metres in from the left corner post.

Zac Murphy also recorded a try assist in the 44th minute when from dummy half a metre from the try line and to the left of the posts Zac Murphy looked left but played right to lead the giant Tigers replacement front rower No. 19 over to score mid-way between the posts and corner post on the left side of the field.
 
Micah Eteru continued at left second row for the Southport Tigers in Round Four of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Helensvale Hornets and in the 19th minute from the left of the play the ball and twenty one metres from the try line Micah Eteru ran the ball to the thirty four metre mark. Then Micah Eteru broke a tackle from a Southport penalty restart in the 29th minute as he carried the ball from the halfway to thirty five metres from the try line with approximately 70% of his metres gained being post contact.
 
Tama Darlington started at hooker in the Week Two GCRL U18 Division One Final for the Southport Tigers against the Helensvale Hornets with Tama Darlington recording a try assist in the 15th minute when after running out of dummy half to his right two metres from the try line he brought his front rower No. 8 back underneath to crash over to score four metres to the left of the posts.

Tama Darlington ran out of dummy half to his left in the 49th minute through the centre of the field from forty five to twenty seven metres from the try line after breaking a tackle.
 
Joshua Siulepa started in the front row in the Week Two GCRL U18 Division One Final for the Southport Tigers against the Helensvale Hornets and an 8th minute kick-off return saw Joshua Siulepa return the ball to the twenty metre mark and another kick-off return in the 17th minute from Joshua Siulepa saw him break a tackle to carry the ball to the twenty two metre mark.

Joshua Siulepa produced a huge defensive hit in the 54th minute on one of the Hornets replacement forwards No. 17 to force a knock on three metres from the try line and just to the left of the posts.
 
Good to see Nic Torrens and Brian Quinlan-Randall will be lining up for the South Grafton Rebels in the Group TWo First Grade competition this year.
 
Zac Murphy started at halfback in the Week Two GCRL U18 Division One Final for the Southport Tigers against the Helensvale Hornets with Zac Murphy scoring his initial try in the 45th minute when after receiving the ball thirty five metres from the try line in the centre of the field and to the left of a Southport scrum win Zac Murphy continued to run to his left before slicing between two defenders with Zac Murphy then bringing the ball around to place it down five metres to the left of the goal posts.

Zac Murphy completed his double in the 51st minute with a burst out of dummy half to his right from four metres from the try line with the defensive line still back peddling to dive over to score ten metres to the left of the goal posts.

Zac Murphy also made a line break in just the 2nd minute of the match when he ran onto a long pass from his right from Austin Marsters to carry the ball down the left channel from twenty metres from his try line to the halfway before drawing the Hornets fullback and passing to his right to Brody Hawkins Malcolm who carried the ball down the right touchline to within fifteen metres of the try line.

In the 18th minute after executing an old fashioned run around to his left Zac Murphy from forty metres from his own try line made a half break after beating two defenders to get the ball to eight metres inside the Hornets territory with Zac Murphy then receiving a penalty for ruck interference.
 
Micah Eteru started at left second row for the Southport Tigers in Round Three of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Coomera Cutters with Micah Eteru scoring in the 37th minute with an easy five metre run to put the ball down five metres in from the left corner post off and off-load from Austin Marsters.

In the 9th minute after picking up a Coomera knock on in the centre of the field and just four metres from his own try line Micah Eteru ran to his left out to the twenty metre mark with more than 80% of the sixteen metres gained being post contact. Two minutes earlier in the 7th minute from two passes to the left of the play the ball and twenty metres from the try line Micah Eteru got the ball thirteen metres downfield. Then in the 20th minute from the right of the play the ball Micah Eteru carried the ball through the centre of the field from forty to twenty four metres from the try line.
 
Kanititeiti Sikahele started at lock for the Burleigh Bears in the Week Two GCRL U20 Major Semi-Final against the Southport Tigers and in the 13th minute along with Amarni Wetini-Ngaropo, Kanititeiti Sikahele was able to hold up the Tigers fullback over the try line five metres in from the right corner post. Then once again with Amarni Wetini-Ngaropo, Kanititeiti Sikahele was able to stop a Southport try in the 44th minute when they held up the Southport hooker eight metres in from the right corner post after he had tried to force his was over the try line from dummy half.

Kanititeiti Sikahele came close to scoring in the 25th minute by way of a six metre run only to be held up over the try line ten metres to the left of the posts.

In the 22nd minute from the right of the play the ball and forty two metres from the try line Kanititeiti Sikahele ran the ball from forty two to thirty metres from the try line.
 
Sam McAlister started from the bench for the Burleigh Bears in the Week Two GCRL U20 Major Semi-Final against the Southport Tigers and after coming onto the field to operate in the front row in the 16th minute Sam McAlister scored in the 69th minute with a great charge from the left of the play the ball and twenty metres from the try line with Sam McAlister cutting off his left foot to target the area behind the markers with Sam McAlister bursting through one tackle to force his way over to score mid-way between the goal posts and corner post on the right side of the field.

Sam McAlister had come close to scoring earlier in the match in the 23rd minute only to lose the ball as he was trying to get the ball to the try line with his out stretched right arm after a ten metre charge from the right of the play the ball

A minute after coming onto the field Sam McAlister, in the 17th minute charged onto the ball to the left of the play the ball through the centre of the field to carry the ball from forty seven to thirty four metres from the try line. Then in the 29th minute Sam McAlister carried the ball through the centre of the field from the left of the dummy half to get from thirty one to eighteen metres from the try line.

Also from the left of the play the ball in the 32nd minute Sam McAlister was able to make twelve metres from two metres inside his own half and then a minute later in the 33rd minute from the right of the play the ball Sam McAlister carried the ball from twenty six to fourteen metres from the try line.
 
Jake Lateo started on the right wing for the Tugun Seahawks in their GCRL Week Two First Grade Final against the Burleigh Bears and in the 34th minute Jake Lateo ran out of dummy half to his left to get the ball from twenty eight to forty metres from the try line. Then in the 44th minute from the left of the play the ball Jake Lateo carried the ball from ten to twenty metres away from his try line before being awarded a penalty for ruck interference.
 
Joseph Shannon came off the bench to operate in the front row eight for the Southport Tigers in the 27th minute of the GCRL First Grade Week Two Final against the Currumbin Eagles and two minutes later in the 29th minute from the right of the play the ball Joseph Shannon ran straight over the top of sone defender to run the ball to within seven metres of the try line from twenty metres out.

Also from the right of the play the ball in the 34th minute Joseph Shannon got the ball from six metres inside his half to six metres into Currumbin’s and then in the 50th minute from the left of the play the ball Joseph Shannon made twelve metres to get within ten metres of the try line. From a standing start in the 53rd minute Jospeh Shannon once again ran the ball from twenty two to ten metres from the try line.
 
After initially looking as if he would play for the Ipswich Jets in the MM Cup this year talented young fullback will continue to play for the South Grafton Rebels in the Group Two First Grade competition.
