Pre-Season Challenge 2025 DOLPHINS vs TITANS Match Thread.

Considering we don't play in round one, if I were Des I'd be telling our boys the season starts next week. Next week is our round 1. We need to win to get some confidence amongst the squad.

I'm sure we'll write today off as nothing but a trial...but ask yourself this, how will the broncos squad as a whole react to todays result?

That's right. We desperately need some of that!!

Dolphins showed alot in their own high scoring (50-8) trial over the Cowboys. I watched it and was impressed. I think they have been underestimated this year by many experts. And they are happy to go under the radar.

Hope our reinforcements can steady the ship. Or I guess bucket the water out of it.

Yeah I agree DH.

I think the cowboys will struggle this year with the players they've lost and the injuries they have already. But the dolphins look pretty solid.

Agree. Hate to see them struggle. But they look like they are in for a tough year.some much needed signs of depth for the Phins.

I thought Fitzgibbon was one of our best today and would way rather have him in the top 3 than Maumalo. Maumalo looked disinterested in playing and is simply just showing up to collect his pay check. I'm hoping there is some truth to the Warriors looking at bringing him back as an experienced depth player.

Tuki also looked like he was trying to get through a mountain of work but was almost overdoing it.

Do we think know after the broncos game that Des has a rethink about what team will be selected, I would presume he will use the Dolphins trial to play the likely starting 13

You would assume the starting 13 with the exception of Tino and RCG

You would think

1. Kini
2. Lofi
3. Sami
4. BK
5. JoJo
6. AJ
7. JC
8. Mo
9. Verills
10. JJ
11. Dave
12. BF
13. Randy

14. Foz

Then who sits on the extended will depend on does he want them playing the full 80 etc?? but I was there yesterday and they looked fatigued and got fatigued quickly they all already look like they need a rest 😂

I still have doubts about JC & AJ starting in the halves but that’s the talk and if that doesn’t work we can’t try and manufacture a future with all 3 Fullbacks in the squad none of them will be happy playing cup waiting for an injury but I feel like it’s time to make tough calls and loose 1 or 2 for the over all improvement of the squad and if I’m choosing 1 to stays it’s Kini

The silence around Weaver is deafening considering that he, CG, Ryder and Harrison are about it for half's depth. I reckon our discussion should be focused there rather than the outside backs, none of who can function without an effective 6 and 7. I feel that will be CG and maybe even Harrison by season's end. Neither JC nor AJ do it for me and Foz has pushed it one season too many, imo and is keeping somebody out. I am not a fan of manufacturing solutions in such critical positions but if you want a left-field idea then how about AJ at 9?

This week is not about redemption. Those fringe players who failed last week should be rested, the rep guys return if fit and those who had a crack should be given another chance. They are JAW, Hau, Tuki in the forwards with Weaver, Fitzgibbon and maybe De Groot from the backs. I've probably dissed one or two but too bad.

C’mon old man, why would we put AJ at 9 when he can’t pass? 🤣

Not sure what to make of that, especially Tino’s return ... and Haas getting the inside running … I think we know where those goat pics are already.
