Pre-Season Challenge 2025 Titans vs Broncos Match Thread.

I really hope our first team puts on 30 in the first half and our seconds team continues the momentum. Im not sure what an ideal trail match is meant to look like but I really want to beat the broncos.
 
I wanna win Premierships and make the Finals. But my first order of business is always to beat the Broncos. And we got to beat them on and off the field.

Anyway, thanks Dolphins for running distraction.

Looking forward to watching this tomorrow.
 
Honestly I don’t really care too much for the result

Want to see effort. More interested in our defensive side of the game than what we do with the ball

Most of my interest in tomorrow’s game is around how some of the fringe/younger guys handle the pace and physicality of an NRL trial
 
Is there any chance of a smokey actually making the 17? CG was the hope but I can't see Des not having in 17 in mind and rightfully so, Shouldn't be changing off trials.

Unless the Pahulu stuff has really turned REALLY bitter it feels like the 17 is probably set, Imo it will looks to be Foz, JJ, Pahulu and Haas imo, Wouldn't be against Arama sneaking in depending on how he looks.

The smokey will be Tui Simpkins making it into the 17. As far as I see its a 5 way race between Pahulu, Haas, Iszac, Hau and Simpkins for who takes the last bench spot. Foran will be 14 it seems.


At the end of the day, I think Des picks on how they train so I doubt the trails will change much. I'm guessing Haas is Infront since he is highest on the list but maybe Im over thinking it. Seeing iszak high on the list makes me think he put in a great preseason but that also might be overthinking it.

I am just hoping for a show of discipline being limited penalties, six again's given away and limited play the ball errors, nothing major.

Am I correct that Kasey Badger is the ref?
 
Daniel Schwass is ref and Kissweak aka Kissy Badger is video ref from memory … I’m surprised Badel isn’t in charge.

Quick once over of the young guys and fringe players that you might not be too familiar with:

Allan Fitzgibbon - Think he's mid 20's now, NSW Cup winger who was an up and comer that had some early off-field issues that derailed his career. Fast, good finisher. Think his contract status is full time t&t

Zane Harrison - Dev contract. Finished school last year and won MM + national schools comp as captain. He's still only turning 19 this year so is a baby so far as his career. Through and through 7. I was actually surprised he's playing an NRL trial (same goes for Stevo, Sunny and Cooper. All same age)

Sam Stephenson - Dev contract. Finished school last year, played in same teams as Zane. Played QLD 19s a year early last year. He's a centre. Again, turning 19 this year so a baby.

Sunny Kama - just on a pre season t&t. Same age + teams last year as Zane and Stevo (PBC + Tweed). Winger who's a bit vertically undersized but he's strong for his age/size and will grow into his body. Loves tough carries.

Cooper Bai - same age as the above. On full season t&t but likely contracted beyond already. Cooper has been as good as Zane and Stevo whenever they've thrown on a titans jersey in the age group fixtures. He's a lock.

Brock Gray and Patston are full time t&t. Hayman is just t&t (utility who can play 1-7), had big season in NSW cup last year. All these guys have reasonable cup experience.

Players like these make the trials more interesting. Thanks for the info.
