Review of matches for JTS players transitioning to QCUp and NRL

Seth Nikotemo continued from the bench in Round Four against the Redcliffe Dolphins with Seth Nikotemo coming onto the field in the 51st minute to operate at right second row and in the 53rd minute after running onto the ball two passes to the right of the play the ball and forty metres from the halfway mark Seth Nikotemo did well to get the ball three metres into Redcliffe territory.

Seth NIkotemo followed up with a run to the right of the dummy half in the 56th minute to carry the ball ten metres to the halfway mark. Then in the 74th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball Seth Nikotemo ran straight and hard to get the ball from thirty one metres from the try line to twenty metres out.

Seth NIkotemo did well defensively in the 60th minute when he was involved in holding up the Redcliffe left second rower No. 11 over the try line on the final tackle ten metres to the right of the goal posts. Then in the 63rd minute Seth Nikotemo made a great try saving tackle on the Dolphins fullback after running to his right to cut the fullback down just short of the try line ten metres in from the right corner post.

Jaylen De Groot moved back into the Ipswich Jets starting side on the right wing in Round Five of the Queensland Cup against the Burleigh Bears with Jaylan De Groot scoring in the 50th minute when after being put away down the right touchline forty two metres from the try line Jaylan De Groot cut inside off his right foot when twenty metres out with Jaylan De Groot then racing away to score untouched under the posts.

Jaylan De Groot had come close to scoring earlier in the match in the 16the minute when he out jumped his opposing winger to take a Jets attacking on the full right o nteh try lien but Jaylan De Groot was held up over the try line.

The 27th minute saw Jaylan De Groot run out of dummy half to his right and run the ball through the centre of the field from nineteen metres to thirty metres from his own try line. Then Jaylan De Groot took the Bears second half kick-off on the full.

In relation to a kick return in the 47th minute after taking the ball on the full twenty two metres from his own try line Jaylan De Groot returned the ball eleven metres before being awarded a penalty for ruck interference. Arama Hau started at left second row for teh Ipswich Jets in Round Five of the Queensland Cup against the Burleigh Bears with Arama Hau scoring his first Queensland Cup try in the 18th minute with Arama Hau running off a Tannah Boyd pass from two passes to the left of the play the ball from eighteen metres out with Arama Hau then stepping off his left foot to beat the Bears fullback to put the ball down mid-way between the goal posts and corner post on the left side of the field.

Arama Hau also threw the final pass for a Jets try in the 36th minute when after carrying the ball to within seventeen metres of the try line wide on the left, Arama Hau, whilst being held by his right leg got an underground right arm pass to his right to No. 14 who made a winding, darting to run to score.

From the left of the play the ball in the 22nd minute Arama Hau made twelve metres from his own twenty metre mark, then in the 33rd minute from the right of the play the ball Arama Hau carried the ball from eighteen metres to thirty metres from his own try line. Vaka Sikahele continued from the bench for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the Ipswich and after coming onto the field in the 20th minute to operate at dummy half Vaka Sikahele ran out of dummy half to his left from ten metres inside his own territory to seven metres into Ipswich territory.

Vaka Sikahele also ran out of dummy half to his right in the 32nd minute to his right from four metres from the try line and it appeared that Vaka Sikahele had gotten the ball down however the referee ruled that Vaka Sikahele had lost the ball over the try line.

Playing sixty one minutes Vaka Sikahele ran for fifty nine metres (twenty one post contact), recorded a try assist and line break assist, broke two tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 3.29 seconds and made twenty four tackles at a tackling efficiency of 88.89%.

Thomas Weaver continued at halfback for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the Ipswich with Thomas Weaver involved in a set play in the 35th minute when from the right of the play the ball Thomas Weaver put in a right foot chip kick from thirty three metres out for Keano Kini with Keano Kini collecting the ball on the first bounce and get to within ten metres of the try line.

Oskar Bryant continued at hooker for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the Ipswich with Oscar Bryant scoring in the 2nd minute when from dummy half with the play the ball less than a metre from the try line Oskar Bryant initially moved to his left before running to his right to the opposite side of the play the ball and after dummying to his right Oskar Bryant was able to force his way over to score nine metres to the right of the goal posts.

Then in the 17th minute after running out of dummy half to his right through the centre of the field Oskar Bryant ran from nineteen metres to thirty three metres from the try line.

Oskar Bryant also did well defensively in the 57th minute when along with Keano Kini, Oskar Bryant held up the Ipswich No. 15 over the try line nest to the left goal post.

Arama Hau continued at left second row for teh Ipswich Jets in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the Tweed Heads Seagulls with Arama Hau running onto the ball to the right of the play the ball in the 15th minute to get the ball from eighteen to thirty two metres from his own try line with Arama Hau then getting a right arm off-load away to his left.

From the right of the play the ball in the 20th minute Arama Hau carried the ball through the centre of the field from forty two metres to within twenty four metres of the try line with Arama Hau breaking a tackle as he made eighteen metres. Then in the 32nd minute from two passes to the left of the play the ball, Arama Hau pushed away from one defender as he ran the ball from the halfway mark to thirty eight metres out. Arama Hau did well in the 40th minute to chase a Tweed Heads line break an tackle the Seagulls lock less than two metres from the try line and stop him short with the referee ruling a double movement on the Tweed Heads player.

Kaleb Ngamanu continued on the left wing for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the Ipswich Jets with Kaleb Ngamanu scoring a double.

Kaleb Ngamanu scored his initial try in the 25th minute when after receiving a pass from his inside from Keano Kini, Kaleb Ngamanu was able to burrow under three defenders from three metres out to score three metres in from the left corner post.

Kaleb Ngamanu completed his double in the 44th minute but to fulling explain Kaleb Ngamanu’s involvement you have to go back to the commencement of the movement that lead to him scoring. After backing up a Seagulls line break from deep inside his own territory, Kaleb Ngamanu received an inside pass from his left centre forty five metres from the try line and after getting to within twenty metres of the try line Kaleb Ngamanu while being tackled from behind got a pass away to his right to his five eight, but Kaleb Ngamanu was not done yet and got off the ground to get the ball back from his five eight, eight metres out and carry two Jets defenders over the try line to get the ball down seven metres in from the left corner post.

Kaleb Ngamanu could easily have scored a hat trick when in the 37th minute Kaleb Ngamanu had an opportunity to dive on a Seagulls kick in the in-goal area after the Jets fullback and left winger had collided but the referee ruled that an Ipswich defender had grounded the ball a fraction before Kaleb Ngamanu and thus ruled an Ipswich goal line drop-out.

Kaleb Ngamanu also made a line break in the 22nd minute with a run down the left touchline from thirty two metres out to within ten metres of the try line.

The 7th minute saw Kaleb Ngamanu run onto the ball to the right of the dummy half to carry the ball from eighteen metres to thirty one metres from his try line. Then in the 18th minute from the right of the play the ball once again Kaleb Ngamanu got the ball from his own try line to ten metres out.

Round Six of the 2024 Queensland Cup competition saw Keano Kini start at fullback for his new club being the Tweed Heads Seagulls against the Ipswich Jets with Keano Kini scoring in the 50th minute when after chiming into the Seagulls backline wide on the left from twelve metres out Kenao Kini got on the outside of his direct opponent and even though he was tackled just short of the try lien Keano Kini bounced over in the tackle to score in the left corner.

Keano Kini recorded the first of his two try assists in the 12th minute when after chiming into the backline from three passes to the right of the play the ball Keano Kini drew the Ipswich right winger after carrying the ball from fourteen metres to ten metres from the try line with Keano Kini then producing a right arm flick off-load to put his winger over to score in the corner.

Keano Kini recorded his second try assist in the 25th minute when from the left of a Tweed Heads scrum win ten metres from the try line Keano Kini produced an in and away before getting away a right arm off-load to his left to Kaleb Ngamanu who scored in the left corner.

Keano Kini also recorded a line break assist in the 40th minute when after drawing in two defenders on the halfway mark on the halfway mark Keano Kini was able to put his right centre into space.

Keano Kini recorded a line break of his own in the 22nd minute when after fielding a Jets kick on the full ten metres out from his own try line Keano Kini made a line break from the kick return to get the ball out to the thirty seven metre mark.

Keano Kini also did well defensively in the 57th when along with Oskar Bryant he held up the Ipswich No. 15 over the try line just to the right of the goal posts.

Playing the entire match Keano Kini ran for team leading 236 metres (forty eight post contact), made a line break, broke a team leading ten tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 3.82 seconds and made three tackels.

Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui continued from the bench for the Tweed Heads Seagulsl in Round Seven of the Queensland Cup against the Brisbane Tigers and after coming onto the field to operate in the front row in the 34th minute a strong Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui kick off return in the 44th minute saw him return the ball out to the twenty two metre mark.

In the 48th minute from the right of the play the ball Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran the ball through the centre of the field from twenty eight metres to the forty metre mark. Then another Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui kick-off return saw the ball brought out to the twenty seven metre mark.

Playing thirty six minutes Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran for eighty five metres (thirty eight post contact), broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.27 seconds and made twenty three tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency.

Thomas Weaver continued at halfback for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Seven of the Queensland Cup against the Brisbane Tigers with Thomas Weaver coming close to setting up a try in the 17th minute with a right foot grubber kick into the in-goal from twelve metres out but unfortunately the Seagulls right centre knocked the ball on over the try line.

Earlier in the 6th minute another Thomas Weaver right foot grubber kick into the in-goal from the right of the play the ball and ten metres out got a result when the Tigers fullback was forced to take the ball dead to require a goal line drop-out.

The 62nd minute saw Thomas Weaver seemingly hit by a shoulder charge to the right of the play the ball twenty four metres from the try line but Thomas Weaver quickly bounced to his feet and get the ball to the ten metre mark. Earlier in the 62nd minute from the right of the play the ball a stepping Thomas Weaver run saw Thomas Weaver get the ball from forty metres to twenty metres from the try line.

Playing the entire match Thomas Weaver ran for seventy five metres (twenty post contact), recorded a line break assist and a try assist, broke two tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 4.44 seconds, kicked on six occasions making 141 metres and made twenty tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency.
 
Kaleb Ngamanu moved to left centre in for the Tweed Heads Seagulls Round Seven of the Queensland Cup against the Brisbane Tigers with Kaleb Ngamanu recording a try assist in the 41st minute with a quick catch and pass from a Keano Kini pass from his right to his left to Tony Francis who scored in the left corner.

Kaleb Ngamanu also recorded a line break assist in the 10th minute when after running the ball down the left channel from four metres inside his own half to ten metres to Tigers territory Kaleb Ngamanu off-loaded the ball to his left to Tony Francis who made a line break down the left touchline.

Kaleb Ngamanu did well in the 18th minute to run towards the centre of the field and jump high to take a Tigers bomb on the full two metres from the try line in the centre of the field with Kaleb Ngamanu then getting to ground and as a consequence was able to stay in the field of play.

Playing all eighty minutes Kaleb Ngamanu ran for fifty five metres (eighteen post contqct), had two line break assists, a try assist, a tackle break, played the ball at an average speed of 3.32 seconds and made twelve tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency.
 
Tony Francis moved to the left wing for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Seven of the Queensland Cup against the Brisbane Tigers with Tony Francis scoring a double in a big Seagulls victory.

Tony Francis scored his opening try in the 41st minute off the back of a good catch and pass from his right from Kaleb Ngamanu to run six metres down the left touchline to score in the corner.

Tony Francis completed his double in the 60th minute when after receiving the ball ten metres out and on the left touchline Tony Francis cut inside when five metres out to get the ball down four metres in from the left corner post.

Tony Francis also made a line break in the 10th minute with a thirty metre run down the left touchline from near halfway after being put away by Kaleb Ngamanu with Tony Francis brought to ground twenty metres from the try line.

Tony Francis made an additional line break in the 37th minute with a twenty five metre run from the halfway mark down the left touchline after receiving a cut-out pass from his right.

Tony Francis recorded a line break assist in the 60th minute when after running onto the ball to the right of the play the ball and getting the ball from thirty five metres to forty five metres from his try line Tony Francis got his left arm free above his head and off-loaded to Keano Kini who made a line break through the centre of the field.

In the 16th minute from the left of the play the ball Tony Francis ran the ball through the centre of the field from twelve metres inside his own half to four metres into Tigers territory. Then in the 55th minute from the right of the play the ball and on the halfway mark Tony Francis was able to make fifteen metres inside Tigers territory.
