Review of matches for JTS players transitioning to QCUp and NRL

Round Three of the 2025 Queensland Cup competition saw Jaylan De Groot start at fullback for the Ipswich Jets against the Brisbane Tigers with Jaylan De Groot recording a try assist in the 21st minute when after running out of dummy half to his left from forty eight to thirty six metres from the try line Jaylan De Groot threw a great right arm around the corner off-load to his left to Arama Hau who beat a number of defenders to score.

The 7th minute saw Jaylan De Groot ran the ball down the left blindside from three metres inside his half to seven metres into the Tigers and in the 58th minute from the left of the dummy half Jaylan De Groot got the ball from fifteen to twenty five metres from the try line. Then in the 65th minute after picking up a Tigers knock-on Jaylan De Groot ran through the centre of the field form forty two to twenty five metres from the try line.

Playing the entire match Jaylan De Groot ran for 101 metres (thirty four post contact), recorded a line break assist and try assist, broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.37 seconds and made two tackles.
 
Thomas Weaver started at halfback for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Four of the Queeensland Cup against the Ipswich Jets with Thomas Weaver recording the first of his two try assists in the 26th minute when after doing well to take a very low pass from his right ten metres from the try line Thomas Weaver ran to his left and with the outside of his right foot Thomas Weaver put a grubber kick into the in-goal for his left second rower first to the ball to score nine metres to the left of the posts.

Thomas Weaver recorded his second try assist in the 69th minute with a high bomb from thirty three metres out and to the right of the play the ball that was targeted towards the right corner with the bomb lost by the Jets left winger with the Seagulls retrieving to score in the right corner.

Playing all eighty metres Thomas Weaver ran for fifty one metres (three post contact), recorded two try assists, played the ball at an average speed of 3.96 seconds, kicked on six occasions to make ninety four metres and made sixteen tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency.
 
Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui moved into the Ipswich Jets starting side in the front row for Round Four of the Queensland Cup against the Tweed Heads Seagulls and in the 4th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran from thirty to forty three metres from the try line.

From the left of the play the ball in the 8th minute Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran the ball through the centre of the field from twenty to thirty one metres from the try line and then in the 18th minute Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui also carried the ball through the centre of the field from forty metres from the try line to the halfway mark.

Playing twenty five minutes Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran for forty five metres (twenty three post contact), played the ball at an average speed of 3.54 seconds and made seventeen tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency.

Arama Hau continued at right second row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Four of the Queensland Cup against the Tweed Heads Seagulls and in the 4th minute from the right of the play the ball Arama Hau ran from ten metres inside his half to six metres into the Seagulls.

Also from the right of the play the ball in the 18th minute Arama Hau was able to get the ball from forty to twenty five metres from the try line and then in the 41st minute Arama Hau continued to run to the right of the dummy half to move the ball from ten metres inside his half to two metres into Tweed Heads.

Arama Hau made seventeen metres in the 66th minute with an effort from the right of the play the ball out to twenty seven metres from his try line with Arama Hau then awarded a penalty for ruck interference. Also in the 67th minute from the left of the play the ball Arama Hau broke a tackle as he carried the ball form the halfway to thirty five metres from the try line.

Playing all eighty minutes Arama Hau ran for seventy five metres (twenty eight post contact), broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.95 seconds and made thirteen tackles.
 
Thomas Weaver started at halfback in Round Seven of the 2025 NRL competition against the Canberra Raiders with Thomas Weaver recording a try assist in the 9th minute with a high bomb from thirty three metres out and to the right of the play the ball with Jojo Fifita outjumping his opponent to score wide out on the right.

Thomas Weaver also kicked two conversions, the first in the 5th minute to convert Beau Fermor's try from ten metres in from the left touchline and kicked his second in the 19th minute to convert AJ Brimson’s try also from around ten metres in from the left touchline. It could easily have been three conversions for Thomas Weaver but his 51st minute attempted from the left touchline hit the right goal post.

Thomas Weaver also forced a Raiders goal line drop-out in the first half with a right foot kick back to his left that was knocked dead by Canberra just in front of the chasing Jaylan De Groot.

Playing all eighty minutes Thomas Weaver ran for thirty five metres (four post contact), broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.65 seconds, made twenty seven tackles and kicked on fourteen occasions making 417 metres.
 
Jaylan De Groot started at fullback in Round Seven against the Canberra Raiders with Jaylan De Groot making a first half line break when he took a Raiders chip kick on the full six metres from his try line in front of his own posts and split the defence to run fifty five metres downfield.

Jaylan De Groot made a second line break late in the second half with a fifty metre effort off a Brian Kelly off-load to get the ball within eight metres of the try line.

Playing all eighty minutes Jaylan De Groot ran for a team leading 203 metres (thirty six post contact), made a team leading two line breaks, broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.94 seconds and made three tackles.
 
Zane Harrison made his Queensland Cup debut in Round Five of the 2025 season at halfback for the Tweed Heads Seagulls away against the PNG Hunters with Zane Harrison scoring on debut in the 57th minute when from ten metres from the try line and to the right of the dummy half Zane Harrison was hit immediately upon receipt of the ball but shook off that defender and then beat a second as he got the ball to the try line to score ten metres in from the right corner post.

Zane Harrison also forced a PNG goal line drop-out in the 15th minute with a deft right foot grubber kick into the in-goal from ten metres out that had to be taken dead by the Hunters fullback.

Playing all eighty minutes Zane Harrison ran for fifty two metres (nine post contact), broke an impressive five tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 5.22 seconds, kicked on five occasions to make ninety four metres and made twenty two tackles at a tackling efficiency of 95.65%.

Zane Harrison also stated at halfback in the rescheduled Round One match against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Zane Harrison recording a try assist in the 46th minute when after the Wynnum Manly fullback lost a Tweed Heads bomb forward Zane Harrison swooped on the ball collecting it and spinning clockwise to run to twelve metres out and pass to his left for Joe Vuna to score to the left of the posts.

Zane Harrison had come close to scoring himself in the 23rd minute when after backing up on the inside of a Sam Stephenson line break down the right touchline Zane Harrison received an off-load from Sam Stephenson twenty metres out only to be caught from behind two metres out and just to the right of the posts.

Playing all eighty minutes Zane Harrison ran for twenty one metres (three post contact), recorded the afore mentioned try assist, broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.12 seconds, made twenty five tackles at an 86.21% tackling efficiency and kicked on three occasions to make 140 metres.
 
Ryan Foran moved to right second row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Five of the Queensland Cup against the Burleigh Bears with Ryan Foran scoring in the 53rd minute by way of a two metre run to his right out of dummy half, Ryan Foran was initially held up over the try line but he spin clockwise to enable him to force the ball down on the try line twelve metres in from the right corner post.

From eth left of the play the ball in the 11th minute Ryan Foran carried the ball through the centre of the field from ten metres inside his half to eight metres inside the Bears. Also in the 27th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball and forty metres from the try line Ryan Foran got to within twenty nine metres. Then in the 46th minute from the left of the play the ball a Ryan Foran yardage carry saw him carry the ball from fifteen to twenty five metres from the try line.

Playing fifty six minutes Ryan Foran ran for ninety four metres (thirteen post contact), broke three tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 2.81 second and made twenty tackles at a tackling efficiency of 90.91%.
 
Josiah Pahulu started in the front row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Five of the Queensland Cup against the Burleigh Bears with Josiah Pahulu returning the opening kick-off and Josiah Pahulu made an additional good kick-off return in the 10th minute.

From the left of a Jets penalty restart in the 7th minute Josiah Pahulu commenced his run thirteen metres out and was only stopped within centremetres of the try line in front of the left goal post. Also in his second stint on the field in the 72nd minute from two passes to the left of another Jets penalty restart Josiah Pahulu moved the ball from forty eight to thirty five metres from the try line.

Playing forty two minutes Josiah Pahulu ran for fifty six metres (twenty one post contact), broke three tackles, played the ball at an average speed of 4.38 seconds and made eighteen tackles at a tackling efficiency of 94.74%.
 
Ryan Foran came off the bench for the Ipswich Jets in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the PNG Hunters and after coming onto the field to operate at lock at half time almost immediately Ryan Foran ran the ball to the right of the play the ball to get to thirty four metres from his try line and then two tackles later from the left of the dummy half Ryan Foran ran from forty to thirty metres from the try line.

Ryan Foran ran through the centre of the field to the right of the play the ball in the 47th minute to run from twenty nine to forty one metres from the try line. Then in the 65th minute Ryan Foran once again ran through the centre of the field from thirty two twenty metres from the try lien and then a tackle later Ryan Foran got within ten metres of the try line in front of the posts.

Playing thirty three metres Ryan Foran ran for seventy two metres (twenty five post contact), broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 4.23 seconds and made eighteen tackles at a tackling efficiency of 94.74%.
 
Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui continued in the front row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the PNG Hunters and in the 5th minute Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui’s strong kick off return got the ball out to the twenty three metre mark.

In the 7th minute from the right of the dummy half Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui carried the ball from twenty three to thirty six metres out and then in the 14th minute from the left of the play the ball and twenty metres from the try line Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui got within ten metres.

Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran through the centre of the field to the left of the play the ball in the 24th minute to promote the ball from thirty three to twenty one metres from the try line and in the 33rd minute from an underneath line to the left of the play the ball Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran from twenty two to ten metres from the try line

Playing forty four minutes Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui ran for 125 metres (forty six post contact), broke a tackle, played the ball at an average speed of 3.58 seconds and made twenty two tackles at an 88% tackling efficiency.
 
Josiah Pahulu continued in the front row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the PNG Hunters and in the 5th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball Josiah Pahulu ran through the centre of the field from twenty to thirty one metres from the try line.

Two minutes later in the 7th minute from the left of the play the ball Josiah Pahulu made fifteen metres from just two metres from his try line. Then in the 10th minute also from the left of the play the ball Josiah Pahulu ran from thirty five to forty eight metres from the try line. Also in the 14th minute from the right of the dummy half Josiah Pahulu ran from the halfway to thirty eight metres from the try line.

In the 21st minute from the right of the dummy half and twenty seven metres from the try line Josiah Pahulu got to twelve metres out and in the 14th minute also from the right of the play the ball Josiah Pahulu ran through the centre of the field from the halfway to thirty two metres from the try line.

Josiah Pahulu also went through the centre of the field from the right of the play the ball in the 27th minute from thirty to forty three metres from the try line through the centre of the field and then in his second stint on the field in the 60th minute from the left of an Ipswich penalty restart Josiah Pahulu did well to get the ball from the halfway to thirty nine metres out.

Arama Hau started at right second row for the Ipswich Jets in Round Six of the Queensland Cup against the PNG Hunters With Arama Hau running onto the ball two passes to the right of the play the ball in the 11th minute to move from twenty six to fifteen metres from the try line after cutting to his left.

From the right of the play the ball once again in the 14th minute Arama Hau broke two tackles as he ran from thirty eight to thirty metres from the try line before off-loading to his right. Then in the 20th minute from the right of the dummy half Arama Hau got to the halfway after making twelve metres. Also in the 27th minute from the right of the play the ball Arama Hau ran through the centre of the field from forty to eighteen metres out after breaking three more tackles.

From the right of the play the ball again in the 41st minute Arama Hau pushed away from two defenders to carry the ball from seven metres inside his half to ten metres into the Hunters. Arama Hau rounded out a strong match in the 54th minute with a run to the right of the play the ball to get from forty to thirty metres from the try line.

Arama Hau also did well in the 42nd minute to execute a one on one steal of the ball five metres inside his own territory.
