I've been advocating for this all season before a ball was kicked. Then Kini got the fullback spot the last couple of weeks. He'd be a million more times effective than Lofi on the wing. Francis (pretty sure he's out for a month though) Sami or Kini must go on the wing next week for Lofi.
 
Just when you think it’s one step forward we take one back.

My observations
Back to using Fifita as a battering ram, penalties easing pressure, drop balls early in the tackle count. Habits take a while to change.
Near 300 games but is Liu effectiveness as a starter or bench player just about done?
Foran struggles on the right and no matter how good Campbell went on the left , it resulted in many last play options as disorganised and led to little.
No field pressure so we couldn’t make Lattrell do all the defensive k’s and left him with plenty for attack and it hurt us.
Hass had any error or two but has advanced significantly this year under Des.
Excited about how we get AJ, Keano and JC on the field at the same time.
Not sure about our 9. Love Randall and needs to be in the team but we need to increase our attacking threat from dummy half, not sure Randall is that type of dummy half or do we even half that type of 9 in the club.
 
Just got home
So flat and disappointed

I have declared this year a development year so I can sort of cope ok with it as it gives Des a chance to reflect more on the overall roster and to kick some people up the bum.

Are there any injury concerns or report concerns arising from the game please???
 
Hard to judge because we were bad but that game made me very suss on JC moving to 6/7 and especially next to BK and Lofi, Surprised JC didn't kick more as well.

We aren't going anywhere in this comp with BK and Lofi at the end of the day, On their best days we barely win/lose, on their worst we get flogged. I'm not sure the group is good with Lofi either, When he dropped the ball for the try that got called back in the second half (from memory), Not one player besides Liu after a long time came over to him to talk and Liu looked mad at him as well.

I'm not a Lofi guy but that was a bit foul imo and we need the team to be getting around everyone despite what happens. I can't blame em though. Bk and Lofi are a gong show.

I think Verrills needs to be closer to a 80 min hooker, Love Randall but he doesn't create the same space around the ruck as Verrills.

Probably more to talk about but that was deflating and I'm trying to be more positive in life haha.

Agree MGF on this being a “development “ year. Des is learning who he wants to keep.
As for today’s game, Meh. Everything we had shown pride in as a team over the last month was non existent. Des will now tear a few layers of paint off the walls and the boys will need their mouth guards at training this week.
We got a few dud calls today but if we had played like we did prior to the bye they wouldn’t have mattered.
 
I'd rather JC go to Q cup and learn how to be the 7/6 we need, I don't love sending him him into first grade constantly , As good as he is at fb he still needs to learn how to defend in the front line and Fifi, BK and Lofi next to him isn't an easy learning curve.

If we're serious about him being a half I think he needs to go learn, We all see Hughes potentially in him but he's also way skinnier then Hughes and needs to learn to tackle constantly, He's put on a lot of size but is still skinny.
 
The scoreboard protects him but Chris Sutton was disgraceful today.
The difference in the ten metres, in what he tolerated in the play the balls, what he called a knock on and what he didn’t was match fixing.

But then you throw in such a lacklustre effort by our blokes and he will get away with it without any heat.

He’d be staying in the Souffs hotel tonight, maybe having drinks with them and catching the same flight home tomorrow.

The Sutton Brothers are a blight.
 
Really pleased seeing about 99% of this forum finally coming around to Lofi being hot garbage, too bad for every single one of you I bought every yard on Lofi Sucks Island when he was at Burleigh.

I’m going to 1-up all of you with a bigger Lofi take, and it’s that he’s actually the worst Titan ever that’s rack up 20+ games, can’t think of a player I’ve liked less, even Will Zillman was pretty freaky early on and I guess Daniel Mortimer could tackle. Happy to take suggestions though.

But wow what a seriously disappointing loss, an opportunity to go on a little run and we pull that out of our asses after one of the heroic performances in a Titans jersey at Suncorp. Gutting.

Agree that was a complete stitch up by Sutton. He was diabolical and only reffed one team. We were bad today but the leg up he gave Souths just piled on more unwarranted pressure.

Hasn't everyone been calling for Lofis head for ages hahahha, The only poster I've seen back him is T0ken which I do get, He's got potential but no IQ.

I don’t disagree however put him QCup and he will be out of the club pretty quick
 
I can't see the ref being instrumental in that effort. Sure, he didn't do us any favours but the horrific number of unforced errors gave Souffs every opportunity to play themselves into form. I couldn't be bothered naming them all but it is always the same players doing the same things plus our use of two hookers, two light weight fullbacks, one half and one centre just compounds the defensive issues.

Yep we need every ounce of class we have on the field as much as possible 100% but the roster is out of whack.
So in saying that I love Randall @ lock with Verrills @ hooker :love:....every minute of the game in a perfect world. Randall has a bit of Mcinnes about him (not as sharp) but I think our lack of size in the front row doesn't support a smaller body at lock (which is a bloody shame because he would be a gun at @ 13 IMO). It's a big inconvenience to have the bigger bodies of Tino and JJ out of this equation at present.
Des historically has always promoted bigger bodied Props so I'm pretty sure there should be some movement around this in the back ground for our squad.
It's a shame Palasia is a flop because everyone else is pop-gun stature (Tino is a massive out on this equation)

He doesnt play big minutes but it shows how a big body with off loading skills can set up the game when Royce Hunt absolutely destroyed the Broncos pack when he came on for his 20 minute stint. He changed the game for the Sharks
