Round 18: TITANS vs BRONCOS (2022)

For sure we’ve had darker days and if Proctor, Wallace or Isaako get near this team now then we are in even bigger trouble. Where does JC play, maybe bench but probably QCup until his defense catches up. AJ made more tackles and tackle breaks tonight than JC all season. We don’t need to fit players into the 17, that’s part of our problem.

listening to the presser and nearly vomited.

Personally I’ve been far more dejected after the games that we’ve blown big leads because of players quitting or taking shortcuts. I was most dejected after seeing footage of Wallace on his phone in the change room after getting pumped by the knights. We’ve had darker days as Titans fans.

Who cares if we've had darker days? We still aren't winning games, that's all there is to it. Our record of making the 8 is what, 3 years out of the last 12? 3 wins for the entire friggin year. Sorry but that's just not good enough. In fact it's beyond pathetic. I am sick and tired of all the excuses every single week, every single year. For a few positives we might pick out of each game there are far more negatives, and at the end of the day those positives mean nothing unless we start winning games, which we aren't.

To keep it in context, our performance tonight in the effort areas was a step up from what we have dished out all year. A loss is a loss, correct, though this kind of effort is something to build on for the back end of the season.

I thought building off the back of last year's 8th spot was a step in the right direction too. Look where that's gotten us.

I often wonder who is actually on the board of this club? All I ever hear about is Steve Mitchell CEO, the two owners and then Mal & the coaching/conditioning staff. But who are the masked men running the show behind the scenes? Please don't take offence to this, I am genuinely curious.

This is bull**** full stop

Moderately happy with the performance tonight. I think we unearthed a few players that are clear upgrades on what we've been playing previously.

It just boggles my mind it took Holbrook this long to shuffle the deck when it's been obvious to every blind Freddy that his preferred 17 each week was nowhere near good enough.

His eye as a footy judge must be questioned because I don't think he gets NRL footy at all.

Please give me a bit more than that if you’re gonna call bull on it

Interesting point about the Board composition, that’s not something I’ve considered before. Would be good to see a bit more accountability all-round other than the usuals that you mentioned

If you're talking about me going hard on Holbrook, I've lay off him a bit because let's face it, the reality is that there aren't any viable alternatives out there apart from maybe Flanno who I doubt would want to coach us anyway. And even if there were other options, I'm still not sure if the coach alone is the issue this club is having.

I think we might be only two on here that thinks this about JC. If tonight didn't prove that AJ is a fullback, and the best one in the club, then I don't know what does. If you can't defend, you can't play fullback in my opinion. Unfortunately JC can't play anywhere else so it's QCup for him from me as well.
I was iffy about Jo Jo making his NRL debut so early but I thought he went well.
I would certainly let Fifita go to the Dolphins or anyone else that wants him. We just cannot afford him with the performances he gives us. We'd get probably two decent players for his wage, even though we would have to pay some of it next season. His effort tonight was poor again.

I think we get him on a wing and transition him to the back. The roosters did that with RTS and mini. Will give him game time and time to bulk up.

Mate what don't you get? This coach is absolutely hopeless and is under Brennan ability IMO.

That is your opinion. You're entitled to it. I just don't see how sacking Holbrook is the answer. We made the finals last year for the first time in 10 years. It takes time to build a culture and that means we are building. Holbrook admits that they have been below par with their halves and spine. If he gets sacked at the end of the year, I'll be unhappy but so be it. But calling for sackings now when we are blooding new players sounds like a car crash to me. That's what I don't get. Hope that clarifies my standpoint and opinion.

Actually, the last time we made the finals was in 2016 under Neil Henry. We then made the genius decision to sign Jarryd Hayne and the next year Henry got the sack.

I wanna know why they've had two weeks off to train with a new team and there's still no set plays or any shape for fifita.

Looked like a great turn out, Austadiums website had it at 19,245

I agree. Pretty good considering our form. We have a loyal fanbase and there are a lot of Bronco fans on the GC and Saturday makes it easy for them to travel from Brisbane.
