Round 19: TITANS vs PARRA (2024)

Well we've won a game amazingly, A dog fight where we weren't great but beat a top four team and now beat a bottom team being pretty average and a lot to complain about later but.....

I'll ******* take it baby, HOW GOOD ARE WE.

Once Liu got into the picture we just lost the middle … he’s totally done. Tiny hands dropped ball and AKP’s lack of professionalism really need to be addressed.

Happy to get the W.

Take the win???
WTAF??
Any GC win and you party like it’s 1999.
Woooo
Get that up ya Parramatta

The best bit was we could have caught the Holbrook’s tonight and fallen apart a few times but we steadied.

That’s Des and Foz

Door dash beers and scotch

Yeewwwweee

Get to the Suns tomorrow they have a MINI GF.

Man I'm so happy seeing Jayden really start to find his position, he's silky with his grubbers, short balls and cut outs, and still ever so dangerous on his feet. His goal kicking has been a huge help, and his defence is at another level (pretty sure he forced 3 knock ons - great to see his development).

Also Randall, Clarke, Verrills, Jojo have really gone to another level with Des.

Can't wait for a full year with Des to see what he can do with our promising young squad.

Yep absolutely “take a win”! can be ecstatic as a titans fan but still want us to improve in areas. When we really click as a club is when we put away the cellar dwellers and go to war with the heavyweights. It’s the pointy end of the season where it starts to matter and you want to be the team firing and improving each week and not sputtering into the finals.

Still early days but I’m actually shifting my mindset from “avoiding the spoon” to “ make the 8”. I’ll tell you this I’m actually enjoying watching footy again so in Des we trust

Also we are even on points with the donkeys! next 2024 season goal: Finish above the donkeys

Agree 5YC

I think the main bad habit now seems to be we to play to our opposition when it seems easy which has happened for years but we're actually saving ourselves or putting in massive efforts for 80 mins. Just winning games when teams are coming at us seems a big leap from where we've been, It also feels like luck/calls for the first time are actually falling our way at least 50/50 but I put that down to the effort the team is putting in as much as luck.

That Tigers loss more then any I think haunts us, So bad so bad but it also might've been the real reality check this team needed.

Will watch the game when I get home and gives my thoughts but…
We’re now 6-10… Kasey doesn’t hand the Raiders a win, BK try against Knights gets called, steal that tough Storm game which was on the cards, and show up for that Wests game, and we’d be roaring home. Even if we just took two of them. Honestly though, with how this current team is cooking we’d have only dropped a few of those early ones too.

Sami was very good tonight and Randall @ 13 is so important to this team right now.
I noticed Des giving Randall a back slap at half time (he knows it ;))

It's tiny feet with Fermor isn't it from Fletch??
Yes and AJ in the background mumbled “tiny hands, he can’t catch” lol

JC’s long kicking game has solved one of our missing dimensions too. I just hope small pack isn’t going to run out of steam. Palasia looked engaged today but Liu offered nothing at all. JAw please.

3 in a row lads! First time since 2021 (fark we've been a woeful bunch 😅).
JC is now 15 goals in a row from the wahs game (since he didn't play sharkies), and if you include Boyd's 4 from last week, we as a team have kicked 19 in a row now.

speaking of JC, what an absolute gun. 3 TA's and LBA's, and again showed off his long kicking game like it was nothing to him. Exactly like his father in regard to his humbleness & grit, yet he has that sort of X factor about him where you know he is about to take his game to the next level in the next few years. If I don't see him extend long term like Tino & AJ, I'll be gutted. I love the idea of having a dynasty start with the Campbell's. Hopefully in a decade's time the Preston Campbell stand gets Jayden's name added to it.

AJ's try assist for Parra (own goal? own try?) had the whole members section in shambles. BUT, as most have said here already, I can excuse it as you know that sort of mistake is not a common thing for AJ, and even AJ acknowledges his screw up there. AKP & BK get hassled for their mistakes, even the minor one's because it is such a common thing with them (same with Tiny hands).

Other takes on the game:
- Love seeing us actually complete sets. Up until AJ's blunder, I believe we were completing at 100%, and finished the game with 86% completion.
- Seeing the team make a genuine effort to chase the kick on last can make a grown man cry (it shouldn't, but it will!).
- I can't believe I am saying this, but Erin Clark is starting to become one of my favourite players. I used to be one of his biggest haters, but the guy has really turned it around. A coach like Des knows how to unlock player's potential, and actually has a place for them in his team.
- Hopefully once JJ is back we drop Liu into the abyss with all the other bang average players who have been at our club. He offers nothing in attack or defence like he once used too at the Roosters.

All in all, it is starting to come together, and whether or not we make a push, it is good to see the signs of what is to come if the boys can keep it up.
