Round 2: BULLDOGS vs TITANS (2025)

Oh boy oh boy. It's that time approaching. Belmore away should be a tough assignment and the Dogs have improved a lot.

Look if we can not get held to zero like last time and leave injury free, it's a positive.

I'm expecting the boys to all be gunning and fired up for this one. I see it as a revenge game. First game back, write the wrong from last year and avenge Tino's ACL.

1. Kini

4. Sami
5. Jojo
6. AJ Brimmo
7. Jayden Cambell
8. Regan Cambell-Gillard

11. Fermor
12. Klese Haas
13. Big Tino

14. Verrills
15. Big Mo
16. Big Dave Fifita
17. Brock the legend Gray

This is the team I would run out with against the Bulldogs. Maybe im a little bit too hot on Brock Gray, Pahulu could fill that spot aswell and has more potential upside im guessing.

There’s no way Brock Gray is getting a run over Pahulu, but otherwise looks good

I like that line up HJ but I'd start with Verrills and have Randy on the bench. I'd also start DF and Klese to the bench alongside Pahulu in for Gray. I'd probably also swap Mo for JJ just because I don't want to give up so much size when we rotate our middles.

I would have liked to have a better look at Tuki and Hau in last night's game. They might take Klese's bench spot.

I’m no big fan of Haas but his advantage over the others, except Gray who I haven’t seen enough of, is mobility. So I’m in the balanced rotation camp of starting Verrills and Mo while benching Randall, Difita and Pahulu.

Backs: Kini, AKP, BK, Sami, Jojo, AJ, JC
Pack: RCG, Verrills, Mo, Fermor, Haas, Tino
Bench: Randall, JJ, Difita, Pahulu.

With us having the bye in Round 1. We will have our eyes on Dragons v Dogs.

I think Dolphin Oval will have prepared us, somewhat, for the Belmore crowd.

OK let me do my preferred team too.

12. Haas
13. Tino

14. Randall
15. Jolliffe
16. Pahulu
17. D. Fifita

That ended up the same as T's.

I want DF on the bench. Was tempted to swap Mo for JJ but I'm hoping he can find some form. The Dogs will test us early.

Carter Gordon will be someone I would make room for at centre.

I'll be watching AKP and BK.

For the first 6-8 rounds I think we should. It won't happen since his service is not crisp but I really think our starting 13 should be picked on defense alone for the early rounds.
I'll bring up points @Cowabunga was making last night. Verrils is, at times, a very good defensive player for us. He & Randall are tackle bots. The issue with Verrils is that he tires faster due to being said tackle bot alongside Randall. It also doesn't help when players that should be winning the contact aren't so we have 3-4 men in on a tackle, causing gaps and quick PTB's for the opposition's.

Posing this question to everyone; Why Fifi off the bench? I know he was last night, and has been out of form from his best, but surely we do not start Klese against Kikau?

Big David cant play one half of the game to NRL standard, its as simple as that for my reasoning.
Well, besides him being the main culprit of not being square at marker / lying in the ruck in our team, I don't agree that he can't play a half of footy to NRL standard. Not to say that I don't agree that he shouldn't be coming off the bench as I do agree with @willhelm that he shows more when he's not expected to play the full 80 minutes, I just think starting Haas against Kikau is a bit of an odd choice from my own perspective. But to each their own, and I myself should be more trusting in Haas's defence as it has improve immensely, and was pretty great last night. Hope it can translate into this game if he is set to start.

I was thinking the same Appsy. That's why I have Klese on the bench. I'm not convinced either of them will protect JC from Kikau but I have to think DF would be marginally better. Also, doesn't Haas defend way better un the middle?

Agree that DF is at best, at this stage, a 60 minute player. Just don't want Dogs going to their pet play from kick off.

I can’t have Klese anymore unless there’s a heap of injuries.

He has a special ability where his errors in attack and defence cost us both points for us and against us.

He also is one of those players who when he makes the most infuriating of errors puts on a confused victims face.

Yeah Nah Klese.
