Round 2: BULLDOGS vs TITANS (2025)

He’s done it a number of times before. Where we’ve come in at halftime off the back of a Klese shocker and it’s game over.

Games at home against Cronulla and Easts stick out in my mind but that’s just the start of it.

Facts

And Cowabunga League of Titans is social media, are you saying I can’t criticise him on this platform or do you mean the mainstream stuff like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.

Instagram/Facebook where it's way more public (he can see it) and just stuff like "drop Klese" "why's he there", Just seems insane to me when there's a lot of others on way higher wages who have been much bigger issues, It's fine here but I think the key thing that gets missed is straight up Daves form lately and even though he's improved it took Fermor years to get defensively to where he's average now, He also loved a dropped ball,

If he's still doing this in a year or two, 100% get it but to me in a team full of players who have been bigger morons for years and on more money. Even those games that standout, We got beat 44 0 and 48 22, There were a lot of other really bad performers those days and Dave was a big one in both.

It's fine to be critical but saying drop Klese annoys me when not having an answer. Who for??? Reality is Daves had bigger issues defensively, JAW who is overrated imo and has similar issues to Klese defensively but worse, Arama who still needs a fair bit of work on defence.

He's still going to play his regular minutes but him starting isn't going to end the world when we just watched Dave getting cooked 5 mins in for the last half a year.

Bods is right that Klese’s brain explosions have lost us games on their own in the past, but Cow is also right that Klese isn’t our biggest problem. To me, it’s Dave and the She-Rex arc he seems to be following under Des (whose coaching also ruined the latter). I’ll stay optimistic to see if the skittle strategy off the bench works. I just don’t see Dave ever being an 80 min player on both sides of the ball, irrespective of his wage.

Late Mail: Viliame Kikau is in some doubt to line up due to two bulging discs in his back. He’s hoping to avoid surgery but he’ll likely have to manage the pain all season. In a huge blow for the Bulldogs, prop Sam Hughes is set to miss up to six weeks after undergoing surgery for an ankle injury.

Crichton did mention his back issues in the post game last week; Would assume this means Taukeiaho slots into the starting side?

Checked the weather report, its going to be a scorcher on Sunday, estimated 33c at 6pm at Bankstown with a 7pm-ish sundown time. Not really sure if the heat even suits us.

Also if you check the minutes played last week, Mahoney played 80 minutes. Hopefully we send plenty of traffic his way too. Daniel Suluka-Fifita also only played 23minutes so im guessing he will just start and not return to the field which means their bench will be doing plenty of rotating through the middle which is something im worried about. Alot of the Bulldogs points last week were after the first round of interchange cards we handed out for both teams.

Locked in: Titans ready to go for season opener

The Titans are ready to go for their season opener this Sunday, keeping an unchanged 1-17 for their clash against the Bulldogs.

Having to sit back and watch every team play two games before their first, it can't be understated how hungry Gold Coast are to run out at Belmore and get their 2025 campaign off to a good start after an impressive final trial against the Dolphins.

Based in Sydney to complete preparations this week with the club's Parkwood facility impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, coach Des Hasler believes it hasn't been an inconvenience to relocate given the situation and circumstances for the remainder of the South East Queensland who were also affected.

Welcoming back captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui who will make his return to the NRL formally, the only change ahead of game day is the skipper's younger brother Iszac who remains in the extended squad which has been reduced 24 hours out.

Arama Hau, Tom Weaver and Tony Francis are the three players cut with both Weaver and Francis returning home for Hostplus Cup duties on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 6.15pm AEDT (5.15pm QLD) on Sunday at Belmore Sports Ground.
