Round 21: DOLPHINS vs TITANS (2024)

I'm going to dream that Des picks this team for next week (knowing he won't):

1 Kini
2 Francis
3 AJ
4 Jojo
5 Sami
6 JC
7 Foz
8 Mo
9 Verrills
10 Clark
11 Fifi
12 Klese
13 Randy

14 Fermor
15 Pahulu
16 Iszac
17 JAW

BK and Lofi aren’t going anywhere they’ve played way worse than that and survived

There will be no changes unfortunately, would love to see some new faces and dev players get some games as we round out the year.

If we turn up like we did on the weekend we’ll get bathed here

Expecting the same extended squad as last week to be named

My surprise is AJ not being in the 22. I certainly don’t think he should be risked though if he’s even slightly hampered.
The horse bolted on this season long ago.

I watched a replay and I’m nowhere near as down on the team as most are. It was a way better performance than the score line indicates.

Learn and go again. Most people like Redcliffe but I hate them.

They are a money club. They have Bennett. They have on their playing roster a number of players I consider germs. Their fans have had it too easy and need to experience the tough times that we all know so well.

F Them. Let’s go GC.

Gross bench and gross left OB combination. Otherwise OK I guess.

Liu and Palasia are plodtastic deadweights on our bench. Hopefully BK figures out how to count to potato this week.

Starting to feel real negative about Brimmo and this lifetime contract we’ve handed him
Been feeling like that for awhile.

Only possible way I see it working is if it's for less amount say 500k a season but they've given it to him over a longer period.

Feel like he's lucky to play 14 games a season

Hard to disagree. But at least they aren’t the Broncos. I guess we are the only good club in SELD. Titans suits me and reading Mascord’s book on Super League reinforces it.

We haven’t had it easy. We are lucky to be ticking. But I still have so much faith and love for the club.

It’s been fun being in Brissie. Dolphins banners up along the road to rattle Broncos fans. Titans v Dolphins banter on the radio.

Can’t wait to be at an NRL game for the first time in a year. Hope to see us win.

@DH what is the Valleys/Reddy relationship like? Wests/Reddy was pretty volatile. I remember playing them at the old Showgrounds and then traipsing around to their "new" clubhouse only to be greeted at the door for signing-in by their officials and Tony Obst in a singlet asking if the girls wanted to feel his biceps. We flogged them that day and I have hated them ever since lol.

Dolphins v Titans: Finals dream still alive; Brimson remains sidelined

The Dolphins may have dropped a spot on the ladder after a golden point loss to Penrith but their stocks rose considerably as they pushed the premiers to the limit.
With Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow at his dynamic best and their forwards aiming up big time, Wayne Bennett's men came within an ace of a massive upset in enemy territory.

Leading by 14 points with 25 minutes to play the Dolphins were run down late and forced into golden point where Nathan Cleary took charge but they will have taken plenty of positives out of the performance and remain very much in the race for a maiden finals appearance.

The Titans, meanwhile, were outgunned by Manly at Brookvale and look to be out of finals contention sitting six points outside the top eight.

The return of AJ Brimson from ongoing groin issues would be a bonus but the Titans will need to get their defence right if they are to contain the Dolphins' attacking weapons.

Team News

Dolphins: Wayne Bennett goes with the same 17 that pushed the premiers to golden point on Sunday. Sean O'Sullivan is again listed as 18th man.
Titans: Coach Des Hasler sticks with the same 17 that went down to the Sea Eagles in Round 20 with AJ Brimson remaining on the sideline as he continues to rehab a groin injury.

We’re gonna look real silly posting stuff like that after we (somewhat likely) get pumped
Absolutely.

I’m not a fan of it TBH.

Back in the day (2004) I felt it was off that the Gold Coast chose the Dolphins when I felt that Redcliffe were destined for the NRL.

But at least it isn’t as bad as the rot the Broncos do. Calling them Redcliffe in official media.

There will be plenty of spice on the field.
