Round 25: TITANS vs PANTHERS (2023)

Next week I was hoping the Panthers will rest every one of their rep players but with the minor premiership still up for grabs I wouldn’t bet on it. Either way they will lap us by 30-40.

It will be interesting to see if the Titans give Thomas Weaver a run especially considering he travelled to Sydney with the team for last night's match.

Boyd looks out of ideas so backing him up with Weaver would be good. Does Pahulu have enough conditioning after injury to play 20 mins? Would like to see him too. I reckon Clark will get done and Difita so selection will be interesting although Mo returns and surely Jojo replaces tugger Schoupp.

It’s understood Keano Kini will start at fullback again with Jayden Campbell at five-eighth and 20-year-old Tom Weaver will make his NRL debut at halfback with Tanah Boyd to sit out. Weaver has two tries and 12 try assists in 16 games for Tweed Seagulls in Queensland Cup this season.

Could this be the future spine? Tough to debut against Penrith

Even though I'm an avid Boyd defender, I'm okay with this. However, If Kini, JC and Weaver perform well together, that just creates another headache for us.

Damn, gutted i'll miss this one! This reads as if the rest of the season will be used as additional trial games for Des looking to experiment, wouldn't be surprised if we get some more debutants/unusual selections in the next couple of games.

It's a tough ask on Weaver, to lead the team with an inexperienced fullback and five-eight, I'd expect we will be surprised none the less considering. But lets not make this our spine next year off the back of one game, like we did similar to Sexton last season...

Pretty much

See how far off certain guys are and how they respond being thrown in at top level

Tom Weaver is going to have a huge task on his hands defensively. They’ll throw heaps at him.

Eentsy, weentsy, teeny, tiny Titans take on the Mt. Druit Chocolate gangstas … can’t wait to watch the Forum self-immolate.

Gotta be the lightest halves pairing in NRL history lol, regardless I’m seen to see what the young fella’s can do. Tanah and Clark confirmed out for the season with both having surgery, at least Weaver will get a few game’s experience to finish the year.
