Round 26: TITANS vs BULLDOGS

It seems the result of this game may surprise some ppl but be assured the Titans will get hammered.

I'm only going to say thank you to Harro,Minni & probably Bails

I think apologies will be more fitting. :frown:

I will go into this game the same as I felt for the last 20 minutes of the NZ game, which is I'm pretty sure we have no chance, so I will just relax and enjoy it for what it is. Hopefully the Titans will run around in circles, occasionally taking on the line and giving me a level of excitement in the hope they might actually score some points.

Gold Coast Titans face tough ask to send Luke Bailey out a winner

Skipper Greg Bird admits slumping Gold Coast face a huge task if they are to send stalwart Luke Bailey into retirement as winner.

Pummelled 42-0 by the Warriors in Auckland on Sunday, the Titans returned home on Monday to news 34-year-old former Test prop Bailey will call it quits following Sunday's season-ending final-round home match against Canterbury.

Bailey, one of the first players signed by the Titans before their inaugural 2007 campaign, is retiring after 14 seasons in the top grade following his debut with St George Illawarra.

Bailey missed the drubbing by the Warriors with a neck injury but is expected to take the field against the Bulldogs for his 151st match for the Titans and 270th NRL appearance.

Bird said the club would find it hard to replace the leadership of Bailey, a veteran of four Tests for Australia and 15 State of Origin matches for NSW.

'He's going to be missed not just by me but by everyone at the club," Bird said.

Bailey joins Ashley Harrison (retired) and England-bound Mark Minichiello as three vastly experienced forwards who won't be at the Titans' next season.

Bird, who could miss the match against the Bulldogs after being slapped with a grade-one dangerous-throw charge following the Warriors game, says delivering a positive result for the veteran trio will be tough. The 14th-placed Titans have won just twice at home this season

I am looking forward to seeing how we'll go without Bird? But I am pleased not to see Nelson there ... I hope that Zillman will get hooked for Mead at some stage too.

I just hope Zillman gets replaced for Mead.

Does Mead deserve to be benched? Is he not fully fit?

Round 26 Team Announcement

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Coach Des Hasler has today named his side to take on the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday afternoon with five-eighth Josh Reynolds a notable inclusion in the side.

Reynolds has missed the past three matches after being suspended following the Round 22 match against the Broncos in Brisbane. Reynolds comes back into the side at his favoured five-eighth position with Moses Mbye shifting back on to the interchange bench. Dale Finucane accepted the early guilty plea for his dangerous throw on Rabbitohs forward Jason Clark and will miss just the one match.

The Bulldogs head into Round 26 in seventh position with the side needing a win to secure their spot in the top eight.

Forward Aiden Tolman realises the importance of Sunday’s match.

“We need to win and it’s not going to be easy up there,” Tolman said.

“They are going to want to perform in front of their home fans for the final time this year but we need the win, it is as simple as that.”

I think there are some on here with short memories. It wasn't that long ago that Zillman was being crucified because he didn't come back through ISC after injury and yet here are people demanding the Mead does exactly that. One rule for all is one of the things that a lot of people asked for as part of the change we wanted. That means exactly that, one rule for all. NO FAVOURITES. All players coming back from injury should have to prove their fitness through the ISC or none have to.
