Round 27: PANTHERS vs TITANS (2024)

What a season! It can be pretty taxing being a Titans fan. I'm glad you guys are here to listen to my half-baked shite but also grateful from what I learn from you guys. Every different take allows us to look at it a bit differently a come up with unique or hybrid solutions (a perfect answer to the workplace diversity job interview question btw). That's what's good about our collective and that we don't sh!t on each other, despite how different we all are or however hairbrained our ideas sound.

Great we gave it our best tonight. Much better defensively. If we resign Klese, I hope its on minimum as a depth player. Who knows what the squad will look like by next season.

We failed to meet my expectations for this season but I also didn't plan on Tino getting injured or Palasia, Tanah, BK and Lofi being so crap. I didn't expect Klese to play much first grade, so that he was good for a little while in the beginning is a bonus. I also didn't expect Kini to brain it like he did. I also need to expect AJ to be injured for at least half the season each year. Fair to say my expectations were unrealistic. But seeing the way we stuck together at times through the season was a big improvement on previous years. Now we just have to learn to do it more regularly and for longer. I think the pass mark for next year will be top 10. Beau ought to be a lot better next year too.

Special mentions:
Jojo
Kini
Randy
Clark

If Jojo doesn't make the Aussie squad....... I would hope Mal and Holbrook know what he's capable of and proving.... There's Coates (not sure if he reps PNG?) Lomax and then Jojo IMO for Aussie wingers... It's pretty slim pickings and Edwards won't be on the tour with his injury apparently and he played, Maybe Val and Cobbo.. Jojo is better then them.

On Clark... Feel like shit already miss him 😣..... I was always was a big supporter and thought he was used wrong under Holbrook and once he was gone he instantly grew a leg, I'm really happy for the year he had under a coach who knew how to use him and he's hopefully earnt himself a good payday and gets to go home with his family, It sucks for us losing him when he has turned into a legit NRL prop who I reckon is going to kill it for years to come but I'm happy for him and I really wish him the best for him and mum and hope they kill it over there, He went out with pride and showed nothing but love for the club IMO... Always showed pride for the Titan logo.

It's a small thing and he's done a lot better stuff and I've mentioned it before but why I always liked him is because any time anything happened on the field to anyone he was there and the best example was when we were getting flogged by 24 or whatever by the Dogs down in Belmore and Kini got whacked and no one cared and the Dogs were over Kini talking shit...Clark was the only one going off at them trying to fight all of them... That's awesome.

Clark was a good Titan and backed up his teammates.

Hey just quickly fellas

Been a pleasure hanging out with you all here this season. Genuinely a highlight of my week getting to jump on here and talk shit with you guys and watch our team go around, for the most part anyway.

Look after yourselves this off-season and we’ll regroup to support our main man Brian Kelly again in 2025
Just wanted to add onto this and I know it’s not the place but @DIEHARD , I was skeptical about the move over to the new forum as the old LoT was one I have been on since a mid-teenager lol, but this new forum is excellent mate, the engagement is great, and it’s been super fun to be on since the switch mate!.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the chats, debates, the passion, & using this forum as an outlet for me to express my potential closeted admiration of some of these gorgeous gents rocking the sky & sand 🫦

As for the game, didn’t watch, but super thrilled the boys dug in pretty deep and took the Panthers 12 rounds.

I’ve upgraded my membership to 4 games next year so being located in CQ I would love to catch up next year for a few bevvies and put some faces to usernames. Has LOT ever had a meet up or is there too many serial killers lurking?
Hey 5YC you bring up a great topic.

Mini GF mentioned a similar thing recently. I copied (your posts exist in two threads now) the posts and put them in a dedicated thread. Maybe we can get something going.

Could the end of this season get any worse? Of course it can!

Good summary, although imo a bit harsh on Lofi

Mate, I think Lofi will benefit greatly from this season, if he can dig deep into his own attitude in D at times throughout the year. It was his attitude in D that upset me most.

If he can put on 5kgs+ and play outside a centre that makes good defensive decisions next year, he could develop into one of the better wingers in the game. It looks like it's all there. We just need to bring it out of his brain and body. If he has another season outside BK, he might always be a fringe first grader.

No way he can put on 5kg+ and still have his speed imo.

I think with Lofi it just is what it is from a physical perspective and you hope he digs in a bit more with his focus and defensive work. Although, I felt he improved toward the end of the season - he was carrying the ball a lot better too in yardage

Youre right that playing outside of BK isn’t helping his cause lol

I always saw Fox as the archetypal quick winger, good enough in the air and defensively sound for a lighter guy. I know he's put some kgs on lately but I'm talking about his first years.

He was probably the best winger in the game for a bit.

I’d love if Lofi could get to that level with his entire game but it’s a big ask.

Fox’s profile will have him similar to Lofi but for mine he’s a broader body, longer limbed, stronger and carried the ball heavier. Swear he’s taller too but nrl.com has them the same height (someone’s lyin’)

It might have to be Alex Johnstone then. I'll take that if he can become as good as him.
