Round 3: TITANS vs KNIGHTS (2025)

The thing about going to the game is by the time you get home and settled everyone has already had their say.
Wonderful night out.

I’m so pleased we finally have proper cheerleaders that are representative of the beautiful healthy city.

Generally just a fine 80min effort and the NswRL referee was a cheat. Yes he was. He gave them so many piggy backs.

Scotch time

Enjoy Mini GF. Well earned.

We were good tonight but we played a depleted Knights. The Rorters will kill us unless we play a lot better again. They will get a lot more calls than the Knights. Vossy was willing us to lose every call tonight.

How long is JJ out for? Young Iszac wasn't really needed tonight. I want to see more of Brock Gray. The rotations were heaps better tonight but I still think our middles could do less minutes up front. AOB went to his bench well before us and he had all the ball.

JC's two kicks to the in goal were a worry but he defended really well and everything else was good. Would love him to work with putting his man through holes more though. He's coming along.

Can't believe Kini was crook all week and then does that! Does he even have a ceiling?

I'm loving Jojo in the centres and despite the difference in metres to when he plays wing, I thought he was very good tonight. Tony will hopefully be better for the run. JDG must be knocking on Des' door.

Tino is back!!!

Enjoy LoT - you deserve wins like these more than most fans.

Liking Jojo in the centres too and Sami’s definitely better on the wing, his work rate has been great to the start the year. I do wish Jojo would stay near the 18-20 runs a game mark though, his hitups are always strong.

Yeah Knights were bad but still some very solid things from the boys, I honestly didn’t get frustrated with any player in particular last night. Tony was probably our worst but that’s understandable

Best thing was that first 20 mins where we were on the ropes and struggling but defensively held up, Yes against a weakened team but everyone looked nysnc defensively compared to attack which was more important.

Missed this one, will catch tomorrow. Just watched the highlights and it looks like JC had his hand in all of our points. Can see a few little nuances in his tempo and how he’s using the ball…good halfbacking

How did our defence look?

Pretty good after the 20 where we just hanging in as usual but doing it well, RCG woke up after giving a fair few penalties away and our line speed looked quality and discpline on point.

Knights looked off but AJ also gave Ponga no opportunities whenever he was looking and we were all over them/him. Our edges had them covered easily the whole game, JC had a 2/3 at least bad kicks that really let pressure off on them but his defence was great till the end.

Quick highlight check on my end too,

Loooooooooved the way we ran our attack tonight, a bit of everything in it, used our athleticism and speed, 2nd phase looked excellent, woooweee.

Also, the best part about Billy Idiot as QLD coach is that he'll pick Jeremiah Nanai out of Q Cup instead of the far far superior Beau Fermor. Same goes for Jojo Fifita too, he's the best outside back in QLD atm on both sides of the ball but Billy will instead give the corpse of Valentine Holmes and 'Murray Taulagi' a Maroon jumper, thank god for us!

Pretty annoying tonight hearing vossy talk about how much the Titans were receiving the 'rub of the green'. Never seen him mention and harp on about the subject with any other team. Muted my TV for a good 10-20 minutes. The commentators Titan hate is real.

Good line speed and good kick chase tonight. Happy for the fans who went to the stadium to witness a win.

Our attack was pretty clunky mostly again which is maybe a promising sign, We did 26 points of just being talented and being good at times but we spent a bit of time down their end looking odd, JC and AJ were still doing everything they needed just needs more consistency.

That was a game we won through hard work and being better in all the defensive/smaller areas... We won it in the first 20 basically defending our line 5/6 times or so despite Knights looking clunky, We still don't usually do that. They were mostly getting to their 5th tackles and we still were holding up and AJ was a big part of the issues, Was all over Ponga whenever he got it no matter what and our kick chase on him gave no chances.

Vossy and Brandy were shocking, My dad who's a casual was pissed off about the bias ahahaha.

Really good win...... Need more wins like that and it will only get harder.

Not even one anti-BK comment … he and Gagai had a ding-dong battle.

I’m tired of arguing that Sami is a right wing and Jojo a centre … they totally choked Best and GL in that formidable partnership.

Ponga will have nightmares about AJ but I’ve got to say Francis was disappointing, newbie or not. I’d have DeGroot there next week or Dom Young will have a field day.

Now the challenge is for them to knuckle down and build on that.

Glad to see that there was some Moe appreciation for last night. 32 tackles, 1 missed. Zero 6 agains against him, 9 runs for 100 metres, and never really looked to be too caught out. Wish he came off earlier, but I don't mind it if it means Tino is getting 3-4 stints a game.

Speaking of which, you don't just realise how badly we missed Tino on the field until he gets going again. What a freak.

Also it is very refreshing to see a half kick for more than 500 metres for us; haven't had that in a long time.

I also believe this proves why AKP is ahead of Francis. Francis had 5 handling errors, and really didn't try insert himself like Lofi does. Will be interesting to see how he fairs against Young next week.

RCG had another.. interesting performance for a man of his calibre. Not on fraud watch yet, but if he keeps losing the middle, I'll need Des to drop him sooner rather than later.

LOVED seeing us apply all the pressure onto KP; shut him completely out of the game. forced a lot of errors out of him through AJ, which was awesome to see.

All up, a nice win to start the season. Hopefully, we can build momentum and try and get our first win against the chooks since 2016 & first win against them in sydney since 2013.. they really have become our bogey team.
