Round 4: ROOSTERS vs TITANS (2025)

We’re winning dirty. Reminds me of 2016 pre-Hayne Plane (crash).

That said, we’ve beaten two heavily depleted Knights and Roosters sides so I’m not going to get ahead of myself.

I mean we're as depleted kind of as the Roosters?? JJ and Kini out and they had Walker and Smith, Worse for us imo with Kini.

They just got Collins and Butcher back for this game.

What's funny about the always looking the same stuff.

Last week if you didn't look at scoreboards and went off stats you would've thought it'd be the opposite scoreline wise and the same this week.... Both times we've won by 18+...
Feels like we've finally got abit of dog in us. Our defence is still suspect. Feels like we need to collapse our d abit through the middle as we are too space and we seem to leak through there.

But out scramble...wow..

They're fighting for each other. I don't want to get ahead of myself but even though they're depleted teams these sorts of wins build belief, and we all know how powerful belief is within a squad.

Last week my kids heads were turning watching the game but this week they were all cheering with me.

I really hope the team can keep this up. They can finally defend a couple sets on their line after a mistake.

Bloody exciting times lads. Going to the game next week. Really hope we get it done!

Enjoy the weekend

Exactly how I feel mate. There is a genuine shift in confidence in this team.

I wouldn’t say the roosters were depleted. Only Watson out and they had butcher and Collin’s back. Was great to see Dave not take a step back when Spence was chasing him. Even tino said he lived it in his interview. Phins next week let’s go for 3 on the trot

Enjoy the win for what it is.

The Cocks at Allianz is a glorious result for the beautiful fans of the beautiful little city.

Despicable organisation.

More beer.

Have we let in an try off an error since the Dogs game or at least it's 1 a game, Usually it's 3/4.

Feels like that's where we've hopefully made a big step. The errors will always happen and have with us, It's defending them that's been our issue and it feels like the team is embracing defence but also looking competent, Whenever the ball went out wide our numbers and structures looked good?????

Teams keep getting called shit against us but I feel like we actually force a bit of it because it was the same last year.... We don't make errors or commit dumb penalties and just keep in it which is what was happening last year, Our edges are connected for the first time in I can't remember and defending....

Wtf.

Ya enjoy the win fellas. Nice to win a game we had to earn through some defensive effort. Good teams stick to system (on D especially) regardless of the scoreboard and whilst I think we’re a way off being a good team, we did that tonight

Won’t get too carried away. Can’t forget last years capitulation after thinking we’d turned a corner mid season haha

There will be a few additions to the fence sitters thread this week :D and I swear to the footy gods that he looks nothing like his old man but JC certainly looks like a 7.
As much as he doesn't look like him, He plays like him in every single way imo, He also has always had the game suiting to the halves imo.

Preston said when JC re-signed when on the bench that there was a long term plan, This was/is it.... JCs been learning for years.

Defensively is where I've been most impressed, He seems to read everything coming a play a way which I put on his dad, Now I'm going to watch some Preston highlights...

Definitely mixed feelings coming from that game, I thought Roosters were very poor and there were also times where I was so frustrated and down on our team (Klese x2, Randall off the scrum, stupid penalties). The leaky defence in the middle really needs to be sorted too, for the type of money and hype those blokes get its unacceptable for Teddy to be having a field day through the middle like he did in the first half.

But on the other side we showed real grit for once, our scramble D is 100% improving, and I touched on it earlier but I really am liking the Jojo/Sami combo defensively. Our attack looked average at times but we still found a way to score 30 points in the end so no worries there, I think it's pretty obvious if we can defend and hold the ball the points will come easily. Jaylan I owe you an apology, bravo mate. Just keep doing that and the half's can take care of the rest.

The D was fine and planned imo. JC is making a massive change in that we're getting a good kick off with float that we can get back into the fight, Yes it'd be great if it was constantly up but that's never going to happen so the team to me looks like they're attacking on defence in zones.

To me it looks like they're going harder when the time suits on defence and try and lock teams down but if it's just a pull of ropes struggle in the middle we're holding off till there's an opening and go again, We're actually playing a grind down game.

RCG is going to cop a tonne of penalties but it's going to be worth it if we can defend our line like we have because he's going to be rushing and the other forwards will get used to and the one thing he's doing is charging off the line.

I also don't look at RCG as that much of a buy, He's basically Liu in he's a vet and brings different good assets that we need, He's bringing agro, I'll take that over Keenan and others on the same coin who handbraked ahhahaha, RCGs fault is he's looking for heads to take.... I'll take it.

The stars will nearly always star but the two players that showed a lot more promise this week were Francis who I’m very happy to lay off this week and RCG who was not great but was quietly getting about his work in the background. He’ll get into the swing of it soon enough.

RCG makes a difference to our line speed, Verrills and Tino were part of it too.
It's 2 weeks now he's done that, He's not getting the stats but RCG is 100% bringing what Des wanted + he missed a lot of the pre season...... He's more then OK.

I like stats, Stats isn't why RCG is here especially when RCG was being asked to make 180m as the top prop..... He's here to bring a tad of goon and veteran energy. Him running 100m is fine but I think his job is purely be a goon... I want him going wild..

It's the miss tackled stat, RCG has A LOT of missed tackles.... It's because he's trying to kill someone on 2 or 4th hit up, Missed tackles are BS. JCs "missed" tackles are the best stat to prove it's stupid

They've really missed Sammy Walker too to be fair. But we have our own injury woes. No excuses for them. We were just better than they were today.

Why would they need excuses ahahahah, They legit always play like that That was a Roosters game from them.... They give away errors and penalties more then anyone. Go look at their games, They always complete around a shitty %.

We were better having less everything in the statline, If it keeps happening shit.... Something might be up. Roosters are the worst disciplined team or close and one of the worst completion rate teams.... Nothing was abnormal...

Sam Walker with his pinner boot wasn't winning that game hahaha, They might've been worse off, He can't kick over 40m....
