Round 5: TITANS vs DOLPHINS (2025)

Brock Gray - only 26 minutes. Why? I thought he was ok when he was on, even if it wasn't as good as previous weeks.

Looked like a few reserve graders running around tonight and without enough passion.

How's the casualty ward? Do we get Verrills and Jojo back next week?

His contact is good , all force and no grabbing

Also, just for the record, I got into countless, and I mean countless arguments regarding the complete lack of depth on this roster with someone on this forum (who, I can’t remember sadly), today, the proof was in the pudding, this roster has a monster drop off after like 7 or 8 guys, a couple more may be valuable, but the depth chart here is disgustingly bad.

This particular team is a momentum-based team, nothing more, almost impossible to run down, but very easy to out-muscle and get on top of. It’s how it’s been built. We’ll see what happens moving forward, but such a sad (yet unsurprising) loss in front of a home crowd who were hopeful.
Hows Carter not the heart of that issue in some way tbf??? He's on 350k atleast and hasn't played league since 15? As good as he might turn out, That's still a huge risk on a depth/starter whatever position signing.

For all the talk about depth players (not guys who played 20 NRL games and suck), Where are they???? Anyone who proves themselves as a first grader in positions like centre or wing get snagged quickly, We hit the jackpot finding Gray. There's always going to be a steep drop off usually after 22 players, Everyone talks about that, You need 22 first graders to win a comp. If we're blaming Franchise, A guy outside the top 30 and Arama for losing... We've got maybe much bigger issues then the guys who barely play.

They need to be better but shit, Maybe the main top 17 be a whole lot better.

$1.55 favourites….that never bodes well for us. Ah wells let the breaking of hoodoos continue
I’ll be rich enough to buy our team to enact proper change by betting against us as favourites. Poor, wasted effort across the board. Can’t play like the premiers when you can’t be the bottom of the table. Again who gives this team a game plan as it’s pop gun nonsense

Don’t agree lads … the betting mob like their money so if you play at least to your basic form then you should come away with the chocolates
Just went to the local surgery to get the foot removed from my gob. Last time I tempt the footy gods.

LOL laughing stock this defence and if anyone thinks Francis is first grade material have a look at his defence in the dolphins first try absolutely no idea in how to position and then drops the ball insist another try
I missed the game but just watched the ‘highlights’. That from Francis is one of the poorest efforts I’ve ever seen in a Titans jersey. Failed to follow the winger infield, then jogged behind the play making zero attempt to commit to a tackle. Even if Lofi isn’t ready, this guy MUST be dropped.

What do you guys actually expect out of players who are down the pecking order like Franchise who without injuries is probably around our 24/25 player and last resort.

Don't even try to tell me Lofi was better for his first whole season or even now games, He's had like 5 good games in his career and most didn't have any tries.... Or Jojo struggling at centre despite everyone calling for it and seeing it and being a bit sketched... Same with him, He's played 5/6 games at centre which is hard and been honestly pretty poor.... I haven't seen anyone whinge about that...

Injuries piled up in the centres and a pack that underperforms constantly.

What are the "depth" players doing to wreck all you guys like this considering Franchise who ya'll complaing about is replacing Lofi..... Who's doing the same shit. Yes Franchise has issues, So does every single one of our wingers and our 2 depth centres are down.... Our main starters especially the forwards were shocking... Wtf are ya'll looking for? Jaimin Jolliffe sucked more then anyone yet I've not seen his name mentioned? Tino, etc.... This wasn't on our back ups.

Who are these "good" depth players? Because I'd argue we have as good as any team, It's parts of the 17 who for years have been struggling.....

We've got our 2 back up centres injured so Franchise HAS to play basically... Played his 4th game and apparently ended our season, Shoutout Franchise.... Even though we've been seeing the exact same issues way before him but good stuff...

I'm seeing everyone trashed but JJ had the worst game maybe ever.... I'd be out the door before debuting at this club if that's how you get treated hahaha. Shit JC and everyones been called to be dropped.

It's the 6th round, Lets see how they rebound despite offering up the biggest pile of crap known.

That's the exact same thing that I can't stand about Lofi's game. I'ev seen him do the same heaps. Francis did two woeful acts and two very good things. Remembering that wingers are blokes that hang around footy players, I think our footy players let us down. Francis wasn't good enough but he wasn't on his own there.

I really think Des' rotations hurt us too but the attitude didn't seem right from kickoff. You just can't win games in the NRL unless the whole 17 wants to compete on every play.

Lack of skill is different to lack of effort. Failing to follow his winger inside was lack of skill. What followed after that was lack of effort. He was jogging!

Other than a couple of penalties/errors JJ wasn't that bad tonight IMO
2 six agains as well, No metres with impact and bad defence/No defence..........

I just watched JJ suck for the 20th at least time..... Am I crazy watching for that to be OK but not with other players??? JJ has been doing it for years... My big issue is shitting on someone like Klese who righfully deserves it but jerking off JJ or players like it....

JJ should probably about to be jumped by Pahulu who's in his 2nd year and wants out...

Well I only get to go to 1-2 games a season and sitting there today definitely didn't motivate me to get back to another. In one positive it at least looked like most of the kids there were still enjoying themselves when we scored. I was too annoyed we were getting toweled up by the Phins to get off my chair by that point.

I don't think anyone is deluding themselves that JJ is anything special. Just a solid minute eater as a bench/pinch starter middle.

I also think most on here want Josiah in the 17 next week.

I can accept that JJ wasn't great defensively today but I recall at least two runs where he ran with a lot of intent and bent the line and got his nose through. One of them he also hurt JMK's shoulder and took him out of the game for a few minutes, which of course we did not take advantage of.

I am surprised little has been said of Moe lazy defensive efforts as he was largely responsible for the Dolphins first 2 tries. He was lazy in failing to close the gap on the inside to pick up Issako who dropped under to make the break for Hammers try. This is not the first time he has let in a try by failing to cover the inside for which he is responsible.

His lazy effort on the try line where he should have moved on Safiti and put his body on line rather than stick out a lazy arm leaving JDG to put his body on the line.

We lost game in the first half by failing to stop the quick play the balls which fatigued the team resulting in errors and ill-discipline. . The pressure just built up over time.

You lose the control of the ruck, you generally lose the game and by a large margin.
