Your Full Strength Team

Boofhead

One Clubman
Scenario: We have made the final's series and we have a full playing roster, who would your starting 17 be?

1. Preston Campbell
2. Kevin Gordon
3. Esi Tonga
4. Brett Delaney
5. Chris Walker
6. Mat Rogers
7. Scott Prince
8. Luke Bailey
9. Nathan Friend
10. Michael Henderson
11. Anthony Laffranchi
12. Mark Minichello
13. Ashley Harrison

14. Aaron Cannings
15. Brad Meyers
16. Luke O'Dwyer
17. William Zillman

I've been a big pusher for the combination of Zillman to fullback, Preston to 5/8 and Rogers to center but with the season reaching the halfway point and us on the top of the competition ladder, it's silly to change a combination that is working.

Completely happy with what we are doing with our team this year.

To be honest i dont think Zillman has impressed me as much as i thought he would, to be fair i think he needs a regular gig to feel settled in, but he really needs to start to show some of that spark i seen when he first came in.

BTW your side looks perfect to me.

The best thing he has done was that try he scored against the Knights in round one. He will find his feet gradually though, in the mean time its handy to have him on the bench ready to fill any position in the back line.

when all players are firing at their peak, that team IS unstoppable.....

but such is the nature of rugby league, that will rarely happen.....

everyone has the ups n downs and makes mistakes......

but yea, i wouldn't have my team any different (although after some games we are calling for these player's heads, this IS the strongest team we've got).

12. Mark Minichello
13. Ashley Harrison

14. Aaron Cannings
15. Brad Meyers
16. Luke O'Dwyer
17. William Zillman

I'd say that would be the team i would chose as well. We have a lot of depth to cover for them if they were to miss a game. Walker and Zillman have been quality pick ups this season!

That would be my team except i would replace Gordon with Mead.

Titans have a good side, if they get into the semi's other teams better not sleep on them.

Wouldn't change a thing to that side. If we fielded that team for the rest of the season, there's no doubt that the Titans would make the top 4.

Well I've changed my mind again...

1. William Zillman
2. Kevin Gordon
3. Mat Rogers
4. Esi Tonga
5. David Mead
6. Preston Campbell
7. Scott Prince
8. Luke Bailey
9. Nathan Friend
10. Brad Meyers
11. Anthony Laffranchi
12. Mark Minichello
13. Ashley Harrison

14. Aaron Cannings
15. Michael Henderson
16. Brett Delaney
17. Luke O'Dwyer

Either that or...

2. Kevin Gordon
3. Esi Tonga
4. Mat Rogers
5. Chris Walker

Just have this feeling that Rogers and Walker would make for an amazing combinaton.

I wouldn't change a thing from that listing Boof. I love it. O'Dwyer has been a massive loss to us over the last several weeks. He was one of the brightest of early season stars.

1. William Zillman

4. Mat Rogers
5. David Mead
6. Preston Campbell
7. Scott Prince
8. Luke Bailey

10. Aaron Cannings
11. Anthony Laffranchi
12. Mark Minichello
13. Ashley Harrison

14. Brad Meyers
15. Michael Henderson
16. Matt White
17. Luke O'Dwyer

Kevin Gordon has come on leaps and bounds since his debut match.

He no longer submits in tackles and is more ruthless gathering kick returns and scooting from dummy half. This probably comes from confidence in the knowledge that he can now hang with the big boys.

So I would change my team and keep him in the side with Mead as the wingers with Rogers and Tonga the centres.

Looks like your only a Broken Rib is stopping your team from becoming a reality

I think both Cannings and Myers offer us more off the bench as impact players than they do when they are in the starting side.

Carty must seem to be thinking the same as well with Myers back to the bench this week and Graham in the starting side.

O'Dwyer is definitely somebody we have missed and it will be good to get him back early enough to be hitting his straps as the finals roll around.

The rest could also be a blessing in disguise for Harrison. Just look at how much all the QLD players are struggling on the back of their torrid Origin campaign with the likes of Smith, Slater, Lockyer, Thaiday, Hodges all down on the form in the wake of Origin.

For me their is only a split hair between Mead and Walker - Mead seems a lot safer in defence and under a high ball but Walker is just so dangerous when he lurks around guys like Laffranchi and Bull looking for offloads up the centre. I would not hold it against Carty whichever way he goes there.

Zillman will benefit from more game time now that Delaney is out long term. I am happy to see Delaney sign with Leeds becuase he would not make a team that I was picking. People always want to say what a great defensive centre he is but the stats don't back that up and he has been caught out too many times to mention in recent weeks. He is a long way from the sort of form he showed early in the year - remember the Storm game we won? He played well that night and has not gotten anywhere near that form all year.

If we can go 5 weeks without injuries or long term suspensions to anyone we will have a team that can beat anybody anywhere come the first weeks of the finals.

good thing about walker is that he goes infield looking for the ball, even only 20m away from opp goalline, looking for that inside pass of prince or a short kick

There is a reason that Walker goes infield looking for the ball, anyone wanna take a guess?

Im serious about this aswell lol.

well he doesnt have to worry bout that anymore.......or at least not till delaney is back.......

I think that definitely has alot to do with it. I reckon Matty will tear it up this Sunday, especially after a few weeks on the sidelines.

I hope you are right.

We need a win big time...

I hope so. I predicted Walker's last minute try at Gosford and Zillman when he had a blinder at Skilled Park a few weeks ago.

Just don't look at my tipping score, because it would blow my clervoyant credibility. (1/8 last week)
