2025 India Tests

Titanic

Immortal
Just wanted to comment that my belief in the grand old game has been partially restored with the 5th day victory in the 4th Test. A see-sawing match with some truly excellent performances from players on both sides, a bit of spice and some controversy from the "infallible" technologies. Imagine if the "no apparent snicko" decision of out was a premiership winning decision of a "no forward pass" using some form of advanced technology ... lol, maybe the bunker is just a symptom of the times.

Anyway, enjoyed what I witnessed very much and the crowds backed it up. Entertaining Test Match Cricket in summer and Rugby League in winter means the Christmas balance has been restored.

I’m not a cricket guy. Never had an older family member to get me into it.(But maybe my love of baseball could be crossed over if I try)

But I was just talking last week how it’s a shame to see cricket in Australia become less popular.

So I’m really delighted to see you post this. And I hope it can be scrutinised and capitalised on to continue a renewal.

Thanks for starting this, T. I'm not a cricket tragic but I watch as much good quality Test cricket as I can and these two teams are the best. Hats off to all the players. It can be a very unforgiving game and our forever-shrinking-in-credibility sports writers do their best to stir controversy where there isn't any. The game speaks for itself. The NRL could learn a lot from the consistency of rule-setting and officiating. The players are rarely in any doubt of where they stand.

The season of the flanneled fools is over, except for the lollipop version, and the balance is restored. Congratulations to Cummins’ crew. You have to feel for Webster debuting at 31. Also in the “what could have been” files goes Smith on 9,999. Really? As for Konstas: maybe he’ll score more than Smith but only on PlayStation.

I really enjoyed that series. If they drop Boland again, I'll be filthy.

Interesting stage we're in with that team. Konstas looks like he has it but still plays like a 19 year old, with unnecessary rash shots. Webster has it. He was great on debut.

Is it the end of Mitch Marsh? Cameron Green to come back in too. I also wouldn't write McSweeney off. I can see him playing more tests.

I'd also like to see a fast bowler that bowls over 150kms in the team somewhere.

You know the old adage: “the hardest thing in Australian cricket is to get dropped from the Test team”.
