Round 26: KNIGHTS vs TITANS (2024)

I'd be heavily considering bringing in Arama in to the 17 just to inject a bit of youth and enthuisiasm but also let's see where he's at, Liu is over.

He's ready physically IMO for a 10/15 stint on each side, Defensively he might get caught out but he also has played a very good Cup season imo and only got better as the season has gone on and he's a bit different bringing JWH energy with offloads and power that only really Fifita has, He's a bit of a lunatic and not scared of anything or anyone and will happily go at the biggest person on the field or the vet who's played 150+ games in cup old vets.

He's got the crazy that we lack without Tino, Tino can chill a bit if Arama comes through and is our goon in a way. I remember HS saying it in the trial against Kaufausi and the fins about Arama and it's very true and that was before his cup year, He's not going to be anyone's bitch ever I think and he really does play like that.

He might get beaten but every single time he wins any little thing, He'll be letting all the opposition know it which I think we need right now to lift the spirits, Everyone looks done with the season and tired. We need someone to inject some life into the team because they look on holidays. Start a fight, get the boys revved or something. The team needs a spark up and someone to get them to actually want to win these last two games.

I know there's no fighting or real tough guy stuff but with Clark leaving and Tino out, They are the only two in the team that actually rev up and seem to back up the boys if anything goes down, I'd be sending out Arama to see who's got some balls to back up the 20 yo kid who's going to talk wild and be a goof out there but also could be special and what we need.

Agreed Cowa. Lui only played 15 minutes yesterday and I am sure these minutes and maybe a touch more are better allocated to Hau.

With Brimson confirmed out for the rest of the season, will we see Des through some debuts around or keep the same players? Who will play the 14 role for us

Injury report: Brimson to prepare for season '25

Titans star AJ Brimson will finish his 2024 season early after being sent for surgery on his groin that has hampered his finish to the year.

The 25-year-old will get a jump start on his rehab to ensure he is available to return for pre-season duties.

Brimson is the only long-term injury update to the NRL squad, with all other members of the Round 25 clash against the Roosters available for selection this weekend.

It is good news for the Titans NRLW squad as well, with no injury complaints coming from last week's win against the Roosters - the only player set to miss this week's clash is Taliah Fuimaono who has taken the early guilty plea for her high tackle charge.

Round 26 team: Two Titans return from injury in quest to conquer Knights

The Titans will welcome back two stars from injury as they seek Magic Round revenge in Newcastle against the Knights this Sunday.

Going down to the Novocastrians at Suncorp Stadium when the match-winning try was controversially disallowed near full-time, Des Hasler's men will travel to the Hunter Valley with the intention of snapping a five-game losing streak at McDonald Jones Stadium after their tough 28-24 loss in Round 10.

Phil Sami and Josiah Pahulu are the two fresh faces joining the 17, with AJ Brimson omitted from the squad due to groin surgery and Keenan Palasia shifting to the extended squad. The remainder of the side is unchanged from last week's clash against the Roosters.

Kick-off is at 2pm on Sunday, September 1 at McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle.

Get working on how to play lock and hooker off the bench

Will be same old same old unfortunately would be great to see some new faces and even test out new positions

Would have loved to see JoJo have a game in centres over BK who was horrific last week

What I would have liked is

1. Kini
2. Lofi
3. Sami
4. JoJo
5 JDG

And have Hau on the bench over Liu, Even give JDG the 1 and see if Kini can do a job on a wing or centre as an option in the future

Absolutely nothing to play for yet we run with the exact same side minus AJ from last week 🤦‍♂️

Sorry just checking, is Gordon not allowed to play or is Des just choosing not to? Based on the no names the Storm are running out this week, surely we could give him a go?

As always on a Tuesday night, I'm hoping Des is just joking. Francis in on the wing, Jojo to centre, Hau in for Liu.

I'd like to start Randy at hooker and Klese at lock. He was much better starting there earlier this season.
Francis not even in extended squad, injured again?

I assume so TT, He didn't play for Tweed on the weekend.

My brain is so fried from watching BK lately and this might be my worst hot take ever.... Lofi in the centres. It probably ends even worse then BK but I need to see just something different and by each game I think it's less Lofis fault. (Jojo would be at right centre)

From an attacking POV and despite all his tries, He's shown a few times IMO that he could be just as dangerous a spot in, I know the Roosters edge isn't the best defensively but besides the try there were a few times where Lofi came in he looked really threatening and had Manu nervous along with Young.

Defensively, He's fast..... That's really where I'm at haha, At least with him jamming in and he'll more then likely drop off all the tackles but if he can just make oppositions have to make a decision a bit quicker. His contact is dog shit but BKs isn't to far ahead. If it's the winger jamming what better player to have sliding and chasing if there's a break.

I'm pretty sure Des loves BK though at this point.

My only concern with Jojo to centre is he has been killing it at wing. Takes good tough carries. I worry whoever we bring on the wing instead.

Didn't Francis play in the centres and jojo was on the wing before there nrl game together?

Tony hasn’t really played in the centres since 20s.

I think club sees him almost exclusively as a winger at the moment.

Agree, I always saw Jojo as a centre long term for us but he has been great on the wing. The tough carries he can still take from centre, but he is elite in the air both defensively and in attack. I feel like he has to stay on the wing for that reason.

Saves a lot of tries there too

Definitely echoing the Jojo Wing love, want to see him at centre some stage too, but I’m super happy with how we’ve developed him out there so far.

Also, here’s a Q, how many current QLD wingers are there in the league that are better than Jojo?? I reckon he’s way closer to a Maroon jumper in 2025 than we think
