A good five eight ibattle s looming in Round Five of the NRRRL U18 competition this weekend with Jimmy McCombie at five eight for Byron Bay and Noah Waldock for Ballina.

In early May Burran Roberts started at fullback for the U15 North Coast School Boy Rugby League representative side that played in the Greater Northern CHS trial in Coffs Harbour against the Hunter region.
 
Recently Banjora Porch from Alstonville High School toured New Zealand with the NSWCHS Rugby Union U18 side wiht the side winning all four of their matches on the tour.
 
Tonight Leo Briggs will start at left centre for the Souths Acacia RIdge Magpies in their Round Three GBJRL U15 DIvision One match against the Easts Tigers.
 
Ryder Williams started at five eight for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Eight of the MM Cup against the Wide Bay Bulls with Ryder Williams scoring in the 4th minute when after backing up on the inside of a Mason Barber line break down the left touchline Ryder Williams received a pass from his fullback from his left with Ryder Williams then running thirty metres to put the ball down in his left hand ten metres in from the left corner post.

Ryder William recorded his first try assist in the 47th minute when after taking possession of the ball to the left of the play the ball and thirteen metres from the try line Ryder Williams brought his left centre underneath him and into a gap for his centre to score next to the left upright.

Ryder Williams recorded a second try assist in the 66th minute with a deft right foot grubber kick into the in-goal for Joshua Donovan-Skinner to dive on the ball in the in-goal after Ryder Willians had received the ball to the left of the play the ball and put in the grubber kick ten metres from the try line.

Ryder Williams then added a third try assist in the 69th minute when after running the ball to the left of the play the ball from twenty metres from his own try line to thirty metres out Ryder Williams threw a no look pass to his right to Waylon Coldwell away to score from seventy metres ten metres in from the left corner post.

Ryder Williams also recorded a line break assist in the 59th minute when after running the ball from eighteen metres from his own try line to thirty metres out to the left of the dummy half Ryder Williams drew the Wide Bay right winger to put his left centre away with Tweed Heads scoring later in the same play.

In the 36th minute after picking up a Wide Bay dropped ball three metres inside is own territory Ryder Williams carried the ball eight metres into Wide Bay territory before getting a right arm off-load away to his left centre to promote the ball further.
 
Sunny Kama started at right centre for the Burleigh Bears in Round Eight of the MM Cup against the Central Queensland Capra’s with Sunny Kama coming close to scoring in the 38th minute when after running into the ball to the right of the play the ball Sunny Kama, from twelve metres from the try line cut towards the centre of the field but after bumping away from one defender Sunny Kama ran back towards his right only to be held up over the try line mid-way between the goal posts and corner post o the right side of the field.

Sunny Kama also recorded a try assist in the 15th minute when after receiving the ball wide on the right Sunny Kama ran the ball from twelve metres out and after drawing in the Capra’s left winger still eight metres out Sunny Kama passed to his right to put Creedence Donovan over to score in the right corner.

Inside the opening minute of the match from the left of the play the ball Sunny Kama executed a yardage carry from fifteen metres from his own try line to twenty five metres out. Then in the 10th minute from two passes to the left of a Burleigh centre field scrum win and twent five metres from the Bears try line Sunny Kama continued to run the ball to his right to get the ball to thirty eight metres from the try line before being awarded a penalty after being hit high.

Sunny Kama also did well in the 49th minute from two passes to the right of a Burleigh centre field scrum to carry the ball from eight metres inside his own territory to seven metres into Central Queensland territory.
 
Round One of the Far North Coast U15 rugby competition saw Cai Garrett start at inside centre (No, 12) for Woollongbar Alstonville against Casuarina Beach.
 
Oscar Laffracnhi moved into the Burleigh Bears starting side in the front row in Round Eight of the MM Cup against the Central Queensland Capra’s with Oscar Laffranchi involved in the opening tackle of the match from the Burleigh kick-off.

In the 2nd minute from the right of the play the ball and thirty metres from the try line Oscar Laffracnhi ran the ball through the centre of the field to within sixteen metres of the try line. Then in the 7th minute Oscar Laffranchi made a solid kick-off return to get the ball to the twenty three metre mark.

From two passes to the left of a Burleigh centre field scrum in the 10th minute Oscar Laffranchi got the ball seven metres into Central Queensland territory after taking possession of the ball five metres inside his own territory.

Oscar Laffranchi then ran the ball through the centre of the field in the 63rd minute and after receiving the ball to the right of the play the ball Oscar Laffranchi carried the ball from forty metres to within twenty six metres of the try line. A minute later in the 64th minute Oscar Laffranchi ran the ball back from a Central Queensland goal line drop-out back to within twenty one metres of the try line.

Oscar Laffranchi followed up in the 68th minute with an effort to the left of the play the ball to get the ball from thirty metres to forty metres away from his own try line with Oscar Laffranchi’s effort including a clockwise spin to assist in gaining separation.
 
Tyson MacDonald started in the second row and scored for the Souths Magpies in their GBJR LU16 Divison One Round Three 46-10 victory against the Easts Tigers.
 
After missing a number of MM Cup rounds Caelys Putoko was back at right centre for Round Eight for the Ipswich Jets against the Redcliffe Dolphins with Caelys Putoko doing well in the 11th minute when after taking possession of the ball ten metres out and wide on the right side of the field Caelys Putoko stpeed off his right foot twice in quick succession before beating another tackle with a clockwise spin before being brought to ground two metres out.

From two passes to the right of the Ipswich scrum in the centre of the field Caelys Putoko carried the ball from thirty six metres from the try line to within twenty two metres. Then in the 42nd minute from the right of the play the ball and twenty nine metres from his own try line Caelys Putoko darted and stepped his way to within six metres of the try line with Caelys Putoko then awarded a penalty for ruck interference.

Caelys Putoko ran the ball through the centre of the field in the 48th minute to get to the halfway mark after receiving the ball thirty eight metres from his own try line. Then wide out on the right side of the field in the 59th minute once again wide out on the right Caelys Putoko got hit by a defender just as he was receiving the ball but Caelys Putoko was still able to get an off-load away to his right while going to ground.

Caelys Putoko, in the 63rd minute from two passes to the right of an Ipswich centre field scrum stepped off his right foot to run the ball from twenty six metres from the try line to within fourteen metres of the try line. Caelys Putoko then rounded out a strong match in the 65th minute by breaking four tackles after running an underneath route to the right of the play the ball by way of multiple right foot steps to get the ball from the halfway mark to thirty three metres from the try line.
 
Bodhi Sharpely made his first appearance of the 2024 season in the Toowoomba Rugby League U19 competition on the weekend when he started in the front row for Toowoomba Brothers in their Round Five 28 - 20 victory over Toowoomba Valleys.
 
Good to see Karter Iva off to a great start in the GCRL U15 Division One competition for the Ormeau Shearers. The young front rower has also started a school boy rugby scholarship at Brisbane State High School.
 
Isaac Togia moved back to the Ipswich Jets bench for Round Eight of the MM Cup against the Redcliffe Dolphins and after coming onto the field to operate at left second row Isaac Togia scored in the 50th minute by way of a run out of dummy half to his right from three metres out to score two metres to the left of the goal posts.

Isaac Togia had earlier done well in the 36th minute with a hit-up to the right of the play the ball that saw Isaac Togia carry the ball from ten metres out from his own try line to twenty two metres out.

Isaac Togia highlighted his defensive attributes in the 37th minute with a big front on right shoulder tackle on the Redcliffe fullback when he was running the ball back from a kick return with Isaac Togia hitting him thirty metres from the try line in the centre of the field.
 
Saifiti Junior Saifiti started on the right wing for the Ipswich Jets in Round Eight of the MM Cup against the Redcliffe Dolphins with Saifiti Junior Saifiti kicking two conversions from as many attempts.

Saifiti Junior Saifiti kicked the first of his two conversions in the 50th minute from two metres to the left of the goal posts to covert Isaac Togia’s try. Saifiti Junior Saifiti then kicked his second conversion in the 63rd minute to two metres to the right of the goal posts.

In just the 5th minute of the match Saifiti Junior Saifiti ran across to the opposite side of the field to make a yardage carry from the right of the play the ball to carry the ball from four metres from his own try line to sixteen metres out, then a tackle later Saifiti Junior Saifiti ran out of dummy half to his right to carry the ball from twenty seven metres from the try line to the forty metre mark.

Saifiti Junior Saifiti ran the ball through the centre of the field from the right of the play the ball in the 17th minute to run the ball from twelve metres inside his own territory to two metres into Redcliffe territory.

Saifiti Junior Saifiti positioned himself well in the 29th minute to move off his wing to field a Dolphins grubber kick on his own try line with Saifiti Junior Saifiti then running to his left to get the ball out to the twelve metre mark. Then in the 39th minute from the left of the play the ball another yardage carry saw Saifiti Junior Saifiti promote the ball from a metre from his own try line to fourteen metres out.

Another yardage carry in the 53rd minute saw Saifiti Junior Saifiti run onto the ball to the left of the play the ball from two metres from his own try line to thirteen metres out with Saifiti Junior Saifiti breaking a tackle. Then in the 61st minute from the right of the play the ball Saifiti Junior Saifiti ran the ball through the centre of the field from thirty five metres from his try line to within five metres of the halfway mark.
 
In late April 2024 Tyson MacDonald started at left centre (right centre in the second half) for a Titans U16 side against Auckland U16’s in Ipswich with Tyson MacDonald running onto the ball wide on the left side of the field in the 3rd minute to carry the ball from thirty seven metres from the try line to within nineteen metres.

From a Titans penalty restart in the 6th minute Tyson MacDonald carried the ball from the halfway mark to thirty nine metres from the try line, then in the 16th minute from the left of a Titans scrum win Tyson MacDonald’s yardage carry saw him promote the ball from six metres to eighteen metres from his own try line.

Early in the second half in the 35th minute also from a Titans penalty restart thirty six metres from the try line Tyson MacDonald was able to make eleven metres to within twenty five metres of the try line. Then in the 39th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball and eleven metres from the try line Tyson MacDonald burst onto the ball and was able to get very very close to getting the ball over the try line.
 
Leeroi Stokes is a young man from Moree in central New South Wales arrives on the Gold Coast in early 2024 to attend The Southport School (TSS) on a GPS School Boy rugby scholarship and will also be involved in the Titans JTS Program in 2024 and beyond with Leeroi Stokes starting at fly half (No. 10) in the TSS U13A’s first 2024 trail against Ambrose Treacy College.

Leeroi Stokes had an impressive 2023 season culminating in Leeroi Stokes receiving the New South Wales Combined Primary Schools Maroon Award for his rugby league performances over the course of the 2023 season.

In 2023 as well as playing for Moree in the Group 19 U12 competition, Leeroi Stokes represented the Armidale Diocese School Boy Rugby League Representative side out of St Philomena Primary School with Leeroi Stokes then progressing to the NSW PSSA Development squad with Leeroi Stokes then selected in the NSW U12 School Boy Rugby League side for the Australian U12 Primary School Rugby League Championships that were held in Townsville with Leeroi Stokes and his NSW team mates winning the Championship Grand Final and going through the Championships undefeated.

In addition to rugby league in 2023 Leeroi Stokes played representative rugby for the Central North Coast U12 Representative Rugby Side with Leeroi Stokes operating primarily at blindside Flanker (No. 6). Leeroi Stokes also represented the Diocese of Armidale in Athletics in 2023.
 
In late April 2024 Grange Womal started at five eight for a Titans U16 side against Auckland U16’s in Ipswich with Grange Womal scoring in the 54th minute when after taking possession of the ball six metres out from the try line and to the left of the play the ball Grange Womal fought his way over to score two metres to the left of the goal posts.

Grange Womal did well defensively in the 29th minute when along with Majah Peachey he grabbed hold of the Auckland right winger fourteen metres out from the try line and six metres in from the left touchline and after holding him off the ground the two Titans players were able to drag him over the left touchline.
 
Alex Ruiz moves into the Keebra Park SHS Hancock Cup starting side at hooker as well as in Round Two against Mabel Park SHS for this afernoon's match.
 
Titans contracted twins Ashton and Lewis McDermid will start from the bench this weekend for the TSS U15A School Boy rugby side in their first 2024 trial against Downlands College.
